Newmann seems rich, maybe he wants to add another moto gem to his collection?

I wonder what the price tag for TWMX is? I believe Cycle News was bought then nearly went under before being saved for a lot less and is still plugging along.

Maybe racers can band together and buy a small chunks of TWMX to keep it afloat - LOL

Gunna suck when Moto Media is nothing more than podcasts and YouTube videos.

TransworldMX has always been outstanding. I have not missed an issue since they opened.

If this happens it's not because they were not successful, its some minor executive's decision. They probably want to start 'Snowflake Magazine" or something like it.

Newmann fixes some dents, washes some cars, orders some pizzas...no time for a nap. Or rocket league.

I think Donn and Michael and the whole staff do too good of a job not to find a new home (or maybe an old home with Bonnier?) Our sport needs this magazine, their website, their races. The new owners (David Pecker's American Media) also own The National Enquirier and those kind of magazines and motocross and BMX mags and platforms apparently don't fit in their library. I am a fan and reader of all of the magazines in moto right now, including MXA and TWMX, as well sites like Vital MX and PulpMX and others, and even though the media landscape is changing, there's enough content out there to cover that we can all do our own thing and have an audience. I practically grew up with Donn at Cycle News and then MX Racer, and even when we became magazine rivals, we were friendly rivals and worked together when we could. I really hope he and his crew find a new home quickly and keep it pinned.

DC, is his name literally David Pecker?

It’s a weird deal, there’s stil “The Enthusiast Network” which is the motor trend thing and based in Orange County then there’s “TEN The Enthusaist Networkd” which is based in Carlsbad and is the Transworld brands.

I feel bad for them. I always enjoyed their website and their magazine in the past. But in all honesty, I haven't bought any MX printed magazine in over a decade. I guess the websites pretty much gave me the information I needed. I don't see how any of the print magazines of any kind are staying afloat.

I’ve been in touch with most of the staff all day, here’s a little info to pass on. I know Donn and his crew are full gas trying to get this resolved and keep the brand alive.

“It was not due to a lack of subscriptions, readership, circulation, personnel, or ad revenue. TWMX was the most profitable title in the portfolio that was up for grabs (this division of TEN is not tied to anything that is part of the Motor Trend Group, that shuffle happened years ago). The pause is due to the new ownership having no experience or interest in fielding a motorcycle magazine. We are allowed to seek out new ownership separate from the new buyers for the title and can pick up where it left off should we find a buyer.”

Are we going with “the most profitable” or “the most revenue” as we know, big difference between the 2

Time to start an underground magazine and only do online publishing and sell that site to followers to cover cost.

It’s so sad to see a company like TWMX struggling, and a company like MXA still in existence.

Chatting with crew this morning on more details, based on what I was told I think there’s a really solid chance they’re going to make it out of this.

Personally I get more value for potential purchases with MXA, and TWMX had always had the "cool industry guy" vibe.

The team have a lot of brand equity in the sport, and the silver lining is that technology will allow them to do their own thing, they can easily tell the community "this is our new brand" and people will follow IMO.

I liked TWMX's content and it's another sad story of a moto brand buyout, but if they and the community believe I think they can find funding and adapt with technology and give the people what they want.

Considering how many times the magazine has been sold it appears as if none of the "owners" really think of it as more than just another page in the portfolio. Means nothing to them, probably don't know the first thing about motocross nor did they care. Sucks for Swap and crew, sounds like he needs to own it all. If it was as profitable as they make it sound, should be easy to swing???

No joke! Long time subbscriber but - Damn! their re-design a few years back was a pathetic and narcisistic bowdown to their lead designer - made it impossible to actually read the damn magazine. I wish them well and hope they come back ... with a new, reader friendly design. And less of Donn kissing RV2’s ass so much hahaha
