Last weekend was the opening round of the hugely popular National twinshock Series, held at Polesworth, England.
The second race of the day was red flagged after Matt Murphy had a hard crash and sustained head injuries.
Paramedics and marshalls were immediately on scene and the Air Ambulance attended together with a doctor.
They put Matt under anesthetic for the short flight to hospital, where Matt was admitted to Intensive Care unit and was reported in a stable condition. He was taken to operating theatre but sadly didn't make it through the operation.
I knew Matt well, he was a fun loving 22 year old, always laughing and joking, enjoying his racing together with his dad Gary and younger brother. Together the family built a great circuit at Long Lane Telford.
My sincere condolenses and thoughts are with his family & friends, the first aiders and every one is so shocked by this terrible
Godspeed Matt..............just save me a space next to you in the "paddock in the sky" so we can hear you laughing and see that infectious smile again!

So very very sad to read this. As Bryce Vallee's stepmom, and going through what we have been with Bryce, it is so hard to read that someone has passed because of his moto injuries. I pray for his family right now. My deepest sympathies go out to them.

Yep, and it's almost becoming like roulette every time we go riding. Kinda sucks knowing in the back of your head what could easily happen on any given riding day. RIP Matt.
