So first look at the track layout from Toronto:

Now the track from Arlington in round 7:

Looks pretty much the same..Dizzy At least they changed the rhytmsections but to create the same layout just few weeks later is kinda, hmm, uncreative...

Arlington had that terrible 180 though the tunnel, the chicane and the wall jump in the middle of the whoops. Three things that ruined passing. Toronto looks way better. Just because they have a similar foot print doesn't mean they are going to race the same. I'm liking that closest rhythm and the sweeping 180

Better than last year when Atlanta had the exact same layout as Arlington the week after. I don't think the track looks very good. Seems small for a venue known for having a ton of floor space. Hopefully I'm wrong.

They're putting fast lanes along the crowd but lots of waste there in the middle, the diagonal kills so much area.

The middle section reminds me of an Arenacross track. Hopefully there will be some good, tight racing.

it's odd to me that they don't look at what worked for good racing in the years past.

then repeat the sections that work and work on the other areas to improve.

maybe i don't look close enough, but it seems to be just a jumble of haphazard attempts without
any real reasoned considerations.

Definitely the weakest track so far (besides Daytona)

But hopefully the long 180 after the whoops makes for some good passes

I've been watching some old races and holy shit the tracks are cookie cutter atm... I'm not even talking layout.

What about the damn obstacles? Everything is the same. All the rhythm sections are just 3/5/3 foot singles and a few tables, no elevation changes, no weird shit. no berms, too many corners, short straights and walls to try slow them down (just goto 25min motos already)... They're totally mailing it in.

The same person has been designing the tracks for the last million years.

He said himself he is out of ideas. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me...

That diagonal does waste a bunch of space, however then it would be all 90 degree turns. They need something technical like rocks or logs.

The design is too similar. It's just sad that the best SX riders in the world don't get the best track builders in the world. They can do much better and won't.

2016 Supercross tracks:
Rounds 1,3,6,10,12 all had at least 2 triples, 2 rhythm sections and 2 whoop sections. Those should be on every track.
Round 4 had no triples at all...seriously none!
DAYTONA HAD 16 CORNERS! WTF SERIOUSLY! Way too many. RC must retire from track building. Worst Daytona yet.
Walls @ rounds 7,8,9,10,11,16. Those need to be taken out of SX. They're just dumb and only made to "lengthen" the lap times.
Vegas is the only track that utilizes space by going the length of the stadium on all rows, most of the time.

They NEED to stop the short lengths of sections and make them longer, there's plenty of floor space at those stadiums they could be getting much more obstacles in each section.

They should do same as outdoors. 30 mins +2 laps. That way the 45 sec lap times don't matter anymore because the race isn't over in 12-15 minutes...that's just a sad fact in SX these days.

I imagine it must be difficult to put together a layout that can hold the power these bikes are putting out these days.

That's another problem... but all the walls and tight twisty tracks are doing fuck all for the racing.

Food for thought, make the track builders submit track designs for each year. This competition will bread better tracks and new ideas. If dirt wurx sucks, then bring in Bomber, and others to change it up. I mentioned something on Praters instagram from Toronto. Told him shitty stale tracks with terrible obstacles.Evil

If a track works for a venue then why change it the next year? I would rather see the same track again with a few tweaks to fix sections that didn't work so well..

The need to have a new trackdesign at every venue every year is ridiculous..

Other than Daytona, which was terrible, the tracks have been really good and produced some great racing, and this Toronto track looks pretty good too. We will see tonight but I think this track will measure up to a competitive night.

Put the start down the middle with 180 turns till you get to the seats then all the way around using 90s and triples and a few single to tables ,then 180 back into the infield with whoops down each side of the start.

Tighten them bars for the single to tables
