We've all seen it, those crashes that look absolutely terrifying and you think "God he's going to be hurting after that" then, miraculously the rider gets up and rides away.

Who do you think is the toughest, hardest rider of all time? In the modern era, I say Reed and Canard, Reed because of the amount of pain it takes to keep him on the ground, Millville 2011 for instance. and Canard for continuing to come back after what can only be described as horrific injuries time after time. Who do you think is the toughest of all?

Herlings, no doubt. Riding with a broken femur in 2014 and riding with a bad shoulder injury in Lierop in 2013 (and still won that race).

All motocross racers are tough.... If you have worked hard to earn money, spent that money on a bike, kit, tools, van/truck etc.... Practiced, trained entered a race, showed up, signed on, lined up and raced... You are NOT messing around, you are racing to everybody else you ARE tough.....

This guy on the other hand is Kaspars Stupelis, a Grand Prix sidecar passenger and he.... Well he is on a whole new level of toughness.....

Carmichael was resilient. He had crashes like JS7 but always walked away from them and almost always got back on the bike.

If you are saying "of all time" the answer to this question entirely depends on your age. I graduated HS in 83 so there is no way I am saying any of the 90's or 21st century guys. For us old guys it is Magoo, Hannah, Bailey, Lackey, Cooper, etc. I know one thing nobody of the later era's lived in a van they drove to the track! Not taking away from the modern guys but that was a completely different time and yes you had to be tough.

Yeah it was like RC was made of rubber or something, he seemed to be back on his feet before you were finished gasping.

They're all tougher than those sissy football players. But I'd have to say Pastrana is probably at/near the top.
