Ric Dupstadt Graphix which is now I think mxhelmetpaint.com used to do a lot of FAST people in the Tex/Oklahoma area in the 90s.
Mike Taylor used to do a lot of fast pros in the 90s
AP Designs is awesome
No Limit from florida in the 90s did incredible work.

NorCal's own Don Serrano. Used to do (among others) Glover's pink lids---but don't hold that against him!

Forward that list to all pro riders. The cookie cutter production helmet look is tired.

Lee H. from Hellion Designs in Mass does some incredible work for those of you in the New England area.

Watch for the helmet that AJ Catanzaro is wearing this weekend, Lee has been doing his lids for a while.

He is a poster here on Vital.

I had a helmet done by him last year and it is the sickest helmet I've ever had. I really like all the volcom and skull candy helmets he does.

Yep Jeff Long can throw some paint!
He has done a couple of Helmets for Regal, one for Albertson and has done some for just about every race entity, including Race Cars and jet Skis.
Harley Davidson tried to hire him back in the day. He has his hand in the Iron Horse brand as well.
The guy has an eye, that's for sure.
He posts on here occasionally, so maybe he will post up some of his art....I know my helmet is pretty Sweet.

I would throw Justin Barnes (of Newburg, New York) name in there.

He got his start painting MX helmets back in 1992 or so and has been in the game for a long time. He does very, very good work.

Plus, he is a pretty good MX'er himself as well..having raced up through the "A" class.

Also, he also used to do quite a bit of painting for the OCC boys when they first hit it big. Recall the "FDNY" bike, and a few others. He was the guy that was always on the show wearing MX hats and tee shirts.

I still have an old helmet sitting up on a shelf in my room that Don painted for my best bro. He did all the NorCal'ers back in the day...good times.

When I was a kid my dream job was to be a helmet painter. My dad would get so mad because every week I would be painting on my helmet, or starting over from scratch. The paint would get pretty thick. Most of them looked like piss, but by the time I hit my twenties I had figured out a few trick and could make a nice one every now and then.

After the rider replica helmets came out, there wasnt much need to paint your own anymore, so I quit. I wish I would have stuck with it and learned more.

Ya know this is something that has really died off in MX. I remember when I was a kid I always looked forward to seeing MC's new paint-job for the year. The magazines even did articles with photos of all the pro's helmets. Wish the gear companies would let guys run custom painted helmets again, it gave the riders more personality.
