A few years back there was a reunion for us geezers who raced in New Mexico an embarrassing number of decades ago, and several people even showed up from other states, probably because it was held at Sadie's...

I don't doubt that. I wonder if Sadie's is good as it was when I lived there in the early 90's. It went from the bowling alley to the much larger facility next door. It didn't lose its quality IMHO when it did. The Carne Adovada was simply the best dish I've ever eaten.

The best Carne Adovada I've ever eaten is at the Shell station in Pecos. You can't order directly. You have to tell the gas station attendant and she yells it back to the cook lady. If you try to talk to the cook directly they give you the chancla look.

Sadie's is up there, though.
