Tomac seems to be at his peak right now and that usually goes for 2-3 years right?
Now with progression about bikes, training, different stuff ect, I think this is more than 2-3 years. except his shoulders, his body is fine. I also think the level of young riders behind him is not crazy for the moment except Webb.

he will retire at 32 imo if he can dodge big injuries.

Beside his shoulder, has he had any other injuries? I cant remember him ever having knee issues etc. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if he kept winning for another 10 years. He is just something else.

Everyone says villopoto , Carmichael, Dungey, all retired too young, go back and look at how many championships they won when they retired at a young age a lot more than Tomac. Tomac is good don’t get me wrong but it took him a lot longer to win championships then then the other 3 which means he has to race longer.

If he catches RV & RD number of titles before retiring he'd have made much more money in the process in salary and bonuses and still retires young as fuck compared to mere mortals.

Yes that would be cool if he can catch RV and RDs titles but he would have to race into his 30s work twice as hard as those other three guys Who accomplished a lot more by their mid-20s

Since Mike Williamson exited the Kawasaki rig, Tomac has been a whole new dude. He’s got the whole rig supporting him now.

This could be an awesome next few years to see what he can do.

If Tomac didn't break his back before the start of the 2019 sx season Webb would have zero titles. I like to play make believe too

His dad had huge longevity in his sport and is his driving influence.

I don't see anyone on the immediate horizon that will knock him off his perch either.

I think he is the most entertaining rider ever. His poor starts and ability to come through the pack make it so.

Even Stewart commented it may have been hard for him to beat Eli when he was on.

You seemed to miss that the next week after the crash he was on the podium in 3rd place in Atlanta. So that don't really fly very far does it. He was pretty sick the first couple of rounds, and that's what I'm referring to.
Webb admitted the break helped him, racing every week and not being able to practice could have resulted in him getting a string of 3rds and no wins!

My point still stands. You can’t have it one way for or against a any particular rider. It was a season with its own ups and downs. No asterisks for any rider who finally won the championship that year and none for the guys who didn’t!
