I haven't seen anyone say anything about an outdoor option. But we all know this is somehow the best Eli we've seen at the end of his career. We KNOW he has his contract thru SX '23. But:

Does he also reserve the contract option for a '23 Outdoor Defense?

When I asked last, his response is he’s signed a contract for SX only and those races only (I brought up the incoming SuperMotocross series).

He doesn’t want to race more, he wants to race less at this point. Totally understandable.

Star/Yamaha would like him to race and the option is still on the table should he change his mind.

Has Eli publically stated that he is done with outdoors? No?

Leaving outdoors with both SX and MX titles in 22 isn't a bad idea. Will be interesting to see how he does in SX in 23.

Still can't believe we are calling a series SuperMotorcross
We aren’t. We are calling it SuperMotocross. But I agree, it’s a lame name.

In multiple interviews he has stated this is likely the end, the last race at this track, etc.

Even the one I did with him this weekend we talked about not wanting to get beat by the young gun (Sexton) in his last outdoor title run.

His contract for 2023 was annoucned as Supercross-only.

But yes, Eli has joked that Coker has teased him about still racing outdoors in ‘23.

In an interview with Vital, John Tomac stated it was the last go and that less racing and travel, not more was in Eli’s future.

I was kidding about the extra r. Might as well add it though.

I haven't heard him OFFICIALLY say he's done with outdoors. They are just leaning towards it. But if he does some select events that would be cool. Its gonna be tough to lose such a Legend. Doing a few MXGP rounds would be so awesome. Race Herlings and Gajser on their own dogsh#t tracks.

Every time he comes back, I just deleted everything he’s ever posted before clipping the account.

Is his IP banned at this point?

That's what my thought was. You know Yamaha wants that big #1 on the track. I wouldn't be surprised if they find some more money to add to his salary to make him race 1 last MX Season.

Thanks ML, I've read a bit but really believe he is still on the fence but leaning towards retirement from outdoors.

Still a long time before the 23 outdoor season and anything can happen. DF just came back from a thumb issue and now the Barcia incident set him back again.

Keeps changing IP Addresses. I have another security measure in the works that should fix all this creating endless new usernames once and for all.

Mobile authentication would be good (if you hadn't considered it already)

Can’t believe his first pro outdoor race he comes in and goes 1-1 and then 12 years later goes out on top with a 1-1 and another championship. Freaking amazing. I’d love to see him race again next year but if that’s me that’s how I’m leaving my outdoor legacy. Go ride off into the sunset having some fun racing supercross for a few years then go and enjoy the rest of my life.

Can't believe he doesn't even want to become the first ever SuperDuperMotorcross champ. But seriously isn't he leaving a lot of money on the table with the increased purse of the combined series next year? Surely the winner of that gets paid handsomely.

When you're over it, you're over it. I'd love to see another series out of him, but if you're in any way into the legacy aspect of it, there was absolutely no better way to go out than what he just did.

I bet Eli defends his outdoor title. He's John Tomac's son after all.

ET made a hell of a first impression and last! Can't do any better.
