Actually heard Honda offered big money and Eli Tomac wants to be the the number 1 guy on the team. It's certainly not the money or bike. As far as the Roczen comment, I was at Hangtown this year and have only witnessed RC and RV dominate a field like that. It was the fastest I've ever seen a mortal ride a motorcycle. Roczen didn't dominate like that last year. That said, I believe Roczen, Dungey, Stew and Canard will be ready to bring it next year. I haven't seen a field since the mid 1980s so deep. Any of these riders can dominate during a race.

Actually I hate when people say/use this cliche. (I haven't seen a field since the mid 1980s so deep.)

You think the talent is deep? And you'd really have to go back to the 80's?

hahahaha.

How about taking another look at say the 2002 season.

McGrath
RC
Reed
Vuillemin
Larocco
Ezra Lusk
Windham
Fonseca
Roncada
Travis Pastrana
Huffman
Ferry
Mike Brown
Lamson

And many more Im sure Im forgetting

Think about it....all those guys in one race.

How about taking another look at say the 2002 season.

McGrath - for dominating for years, RC destroyed him in 2001 when he raised the sport via fitness and intensity. MC was not in the title chase from the go in 2002. The risks at that point in his career were greater than the benefit
RC - beast, fucking beast
Reed - raced 250F class and dominated
Vuillemin - ML and DV were RC's only competition and RC had them covered
Larocco - ML and DV were RC's only competition and RC had them covered
Ezra Lusk - coming back from an injury and was not same rider as 1998,1999, 2000
Windham - talent, broken femur
Fonseca - not in the conversation
Roncada - not in the conversation
Travis Pastrana - talent could not get passed first few rounds with out blowing up knee
Huffman - never the same after femur
Ferry - never won a supercross
Mike Brown - really?!?!?!
Lamson - never won a supercross

_________________________________

Here is today's field:

- Dungey: most SX wins in 2015, greatest SX season, worse finish 4th, can win on any night
- Tomac: had multiple races where he was fastest of the night, multiple main event winner. Can dominate on any given night
- Canard: multiple main event winner. Over come major injuries thorughout career. Only rider to come from 10th to win main (Oakland). Multipe main event winner. Had numerous races where he was the fastest rider
- Roczen: had a fantastic start of the season. Can be the fastest rider of the night. won multiple races
- Stew: enough said
- Seely: rookie who won mail, confidence of charts, supercross specialist

6 riders won a main, who is at the twilight of his career? Stew, he just extended his deal with Zook and is magic.

* I expect J Anderson, MM25 Reedy (a happy Reedy is a dangerous Reedy) to be in the mix

1984

Ward
Barnett
Johnson
Glover
Hannah
Bailey
O'Show
Lechein

At this time, only Hannah's career was coming to an end and he dominated in 1983.

I think the Honda, KTM, and now the 2016 Kwak are likely to have a much more similiar feel than they did in years past.

I hear the new KTMs feel like modern Hondas with more motor.

Anyways, ET3 is hauling ass dude and I'm a HUGE fan and I'm sure he'll do fine. He is the fastest man on a dirt bike imo, but like all FMOTPs he wads it up an awful lot. If he keeps it on 2 wheels, he'll win going away. But it's a long season.

In a sport where the shoulders take a great deal of abuse and never seem to be as good again after surgery we may have seen the fastest ET will ever be. JMO as someone who has bad shoulders.

BD if you are truly entertained by this seasons racing, then all I can say is god bless.

All I can say positive about it is that its "better than nothing".

Being a fan isnt about numbers and stats.
Its about having riders (like in my list) that bring the fans out to the races and keep us watching.

Pastrana could fill a stadium on his own in 2002, his fan base was so huge.

There is NO sparkle in 2015 for the large majority of fans.

I own a 2015 450 and have ridden a KTM 2015 FE 450 and I can confirm from my perspective you are quite right....and yes I expect the 2016 Kawasaki to be the same, which is why I ordered one. So good thinking there.

You have some seriously rose colored glasses for 02. Watching Pastrana eat dirt wasnt that much fun. Watching MC roll around in 5th place, punch drunk from his whoopings, wasnt that much fun. The only good part about it was DVs start to SX, and K DUB makin runs outdoors a couple times. WTF sparkle did you find in 02.

Kawi crew must be happy. Would suck to go from winning to where they are now.

He is figuring it out. I don't know if the factory Kawi has more power or not.

I saw K-Dub in TO in 2012, and his bike sounded very wicked.

If true, this makes the most sense to me. I can't see him changing brands for any reason other than he wanted a different bike/team. Dan Betley along with the Japanese HRC leadership seem like they are willing to spend whatever it takes to finally bring home another championship.

I've always been a Honda guy and it bums me to see Eli leave. As much as I like Trey and Cole, I just don't see either of them winning a championship. Honda needs to bide their time another few seasons and try to scoop up J Martin or Webb when they switch to 450.

If true this is very depressing. ET3 was my only hope of Honda regaining its past glory. Hope this is false and Honda did not let him go. I am brand loyal 1st, rider loyal 2nd. ET3 has been my favorite rider for a few years. I hate Kawasaki the most of any brand, so if ET3 leaves Honda any where but green. If he rides green I will have to root against him. and I do not wanna do that.

Yep. I think it's been pretty well known for a while. I'm kind of a Kawi guy myself , so it will be cool seeing him on a green bike. But in all honesty , I just hope he gel's with that Kawi like he was doing with his Honda. I'd rather see him stay on red if I thought for one second that he wasn't going to like the Kawi or make it work right for him. I don't see how a rider could gel with a bike any better than what he was doing at the first few rounds , was incredible to watch.
What if he isn't even gel-ing with his Honda...

Imagine.

No, he re-signed for one year based on an option clause. Part of the reason why he went from a Geico Honda 450 to riding a Factory Honda 450 with Geico graphics.
