McGrath - for dominating for years, RC destroyed him in 2001 when he raised the sport via fitness and intensity. MC was not in the title chase from the go in 2002. The risks at that point in his career were greater than the benefit
RC - beast, fucking beast
Reed - raced 250F class and dominated
Vuillemin - ML and DV were RC's only competition and RC had them covered
Larocco - ML and DV were RC's only competition and RC had them covered
Ezra Lusk - coming back from an injury and was not same rider as 1998,1999, 2000
Windham - talent, broken femur
Fonseca - not in the conversation
Roncada - not in the conversation
Travis Pastrana - talent could not get passed first few rounds with out blowing up knee
Huffman - never the same after femur
Ferry - never won a supercross
Mike Brown - really?!?!?!
Lamson - never won a supercross

Here is today's field:
- Dungey: most SX wins in 2015, greatest SX season, worse finish 4th, can win on any night
- Tomac: had multiple races where he was fastest of the night, multiple main event winner. Can dominate on any given night
- Canard: multiple main event winner. Over come major injuries thorughout career. Only rider to come from 10th to win main (Oakland). Multipe main event winner. Had numerous races where he was the fastest rider
- Roczen: had a fantastic start of the season. Can be the fastest rider of the night. won multiple races
- Stew: enough said
- Seely: rookie who won mail, confidence of charts, supercross specialist
6 riders won a main, who is at the twilight of his career? Stew, he just extended his deal with Zook and is magic.
* I expect J Anderson, MM25 Reedy (a happy Reedy is a dangerous Reedy) to be in the mix
1984
Ward
Barnett
Johnson
Glover
Hannah
Bailey
O'Show
Lechein
At this time, only Hannah's career was coming to an end and he dominated in 1983.
I hear the new KTMs feel like modern Hondas with more motor.
Anyways, ET3 is hauling ass dude and I'm a HUGE fan and I'm sure he'll do fine. He is the fastest man on a dirt bike imo, but like all FMOTPs he wads it up an awful lot. If he keeps it on 2 wheels, he'll win going away. But it's a long season.
The Shop
All I can say positive about it is that its "better than nothing".
Being a fan isnt about numbers and stats.
Its about having riders (like in my list) that bring the fans out to the races and keep us watching.
Pastrana could fill a stadium on his own in 2002, his fan base was so huge.
There is NO sparkle in 2015 for the large majority of fans.
Do you really think people go the races to see Cole Seely?
Get real.
He is figuring it out. I don't know if the factory Kawi has more power or not.
I saw K-Dub in TO in 2012, and his bike sounded very wicked.
And you better watch out, you may be attacked by a bear at any moment.
I've always been a Honda guy and it bums me to see Eli leave. As much as I like Trey and Cole, I just don't see either of them winning a championship. Honda needs to bide their time another few seasons and try to scoop up J Martin or Webb when they switch to 450.
