Tomac isn’t finished

Edited Date/Time 2/18/2019 10:24am
In 2017 after round 7 he was 3rd in points, down 24 to Dungey. Right now he’s 4th but only down 16.

In 2017 he had won 3 races. This year, only 1.

Can he still make a run? I’m a huge Tomac fan, but at this point I think it’s between Webb and Roczen. Tomac hasn’t shown his speed at all this year.

Of course he can but will he. Webb is on a roll right now,So the Tomac run better start next week and continue on if he's to beat Webb,Roczen,Musquin for the title.

The vibe seems different this year. Yes he can, no doubt. But i feel Ken and Marvin arent done yet either. Plus Savatgy and Osborne in the mix. Great year so far!

Only thing is, in both of those years he had shown unmatched and unbridled speed. He's been nothing like that this year at all...

AND his starts suck... And his pattern of just mulling around after a seemingly simple crash continues.

He needs that Loket Moto3 fury again.

My gut says if Tomas doesn’t win Daytona in 3 weeks, then the title will wind up on Orange or Red. I think Ken is going to get a win, and in turn get the monkey off his back which I feel will take some of the pressure off. Webb is on a tear now, and someone is going to have to start taking wins away from him soon or his confidence will be too high to derail him. I don’t know if Eli is still feeling the effects of the back injury or what, could be some unforeseen teething issues with the 2019 KX that came to light that didn’t appear in preseason testing. I just have a feeling that if Coop wins half the SX races this season and the title, Eli may have his hands full protecting that number 1 plate outdoors.

Webb is not playing '17 Dungey game, he's playing '12 RV game and making that number 2 plate some justice finally. ET can still make it but he better don't mail it again and figure out that bike and himself before Daytona.

Yup... he looked good at MEC but thats not a real “SX” track.

Panic button pressed.

Any of the top 4 can still win it. However I wouldn’t be shocked to see Tomac rattle off 5 wins then randomly have a terrible race and lose in the end.

I’m liking Roczen at this point. He’s been so consistent and if he can keep that up he’s got the best shot. Webb has been a man on a mission but he has already had 2 bad races. 2 more races like those may lose him the championship if Roczen continues this consistency.

Huge Tomac fan but I’m very concerned. He hasn’t shown any of the speed like he had in 17’ or 18’.

Could it be that he is under contract not to say anything about the 19’ bike?

I read where someone was watching at practice and he came in pointing at the front end and shaking his head.

His starts suck? Wasn't he leading last night?

There were also only 4 winners in 2018, 5 in 2017. Between the 4 that have won in 2018, only one of those guys (Tomac) has a win this year. Much different this season.

Last night looked a whole lot like arm pump... Maybe he hasn't put in that many laps since he hurt his back....

That's an awfully small sample size there partner. In general, anyone who follows this sport, will agree that Tomac's biggest weak point (aside from fumbling under pressure) is his starts.

Tomac Doesn't have that Hyper drive extra gear this year,
Maybe he will get it back hopefully, he is still coming off of an injury that he originally kept quiet, maybe that us having an effect mentally as well as physically.

Anyone else think supercross is turning into nascar in ways they build the track. riders like tomac can’t show true potential in ways cause it’s so damn vanilla and one lined out there lately.

Tomac still gets off the gate terribly. He made a fantastic first turn last night.

He moved his clamps and kyb legs over off the 18... Said he's still searching for a certain feel, Bowers did most of the testing for kawi... Bowers is a good rider but it would be hard to emulate Tomac's speed... He'll dial it in

He probably took a step back and looked at his DNF's from last year. If he stays consistent he'll be right there. He said on Whiskey throttle he was going to start turning it up.

In practice the top 10 were separated by .5 seconds. He crashed and everyone passed him. Pretty simple.

Until the most recent race I thought we might be looking at a new smarter Tomac who could manage a series. Now I am convinced he's the same as slways only he's not the fastest rider this time.

He led the race at one point. Tips over in a corner and finished 12th. Seemed to be very little effort put into salvaging points.

I get that all the tracks aren’t perfect but Then why could Webb make it to the front from outside the top 5 and how did Barcia go from last to 7th?

Reed passed him with ease and reed was not fast tbh. (That night)

I think that he keeps making small mistakes, but each one uts him on the ground, aggravating the back injury. That is the only reason his Tomac hawk speed isn’t there and why he lost spots rather than moved forward on Saturday.

I was gutted for K-Roc. He deserves a win.

Something happened last year that ET3 has not recovered from.

At the MXoN he was no where near his 100%
