Blazing speed, but doesn't add up to the races wins it should. I love ET, but don't think a 450 Supercross title is in the wings. Waiting for him to destroy everybody outdoors.

Commenting on the entirety of his career at this point in his second 450sx season is beyond ridiculous

Both Darrel and Eli have won championship's in the sport. Something only a few ever get to do. This is what you must be talking about.

At least he can ride a sick wheelie.

He will get a hang of it. He was out injured for most the supercross season last year.

If you can't win it, crash someone that can. I have a feeling #3 is going to be around a long time and have many more highlights than mistakes or lowlights in the end.

It took RC, JS7 and RV 3 years to win the title. I wouldn't count him out just yet.
Barcia however...

Good point.. I do see similarities to RC in his first couple years in the Premier class..
Once he smooths out a bit he'll be up there weekly.

I do not think that is a fair assessment - Pastrana was in and out of the hospital with major knee surgeries and concussions. Tomac is not in and out of the hospital.

Due to injury last season, this is literally Tomac's rookie 450F Supercross season.

. Give him a year or 2 and he'll be on the podium every week in SX.

Just a short time ago, the story was Tomac wasn't even going to beat Dean Wilson....look how that turned out. It's obvious that he has to fix his focus and smooth out his results in the main events, but the guy is one of the select few who can win and in terms of pure speed, he's right up there. The list of guys who have been given more and done less, is very very very long.

I think Tomac's riding style much like Darrel's favors long outdoor moto's. Without doubt he has the most speed of any rider on the track. Hard to overcome poor starts and crash's in short SX races, but not as big of a problem in the Nationals. ET is my favorite rider, but I don't see him winning a SX title.

Why bash Shultz like that? At least Shultz won a title against the big guns in a premier class.

Tomac may be the next Barcia though...

Not bashing Shultz at all! Just saying he was blazing fast in SX too, but his riding style favored outdoor mx. Remember ET won an outdoor title to in the highly competitive 250F class! Magoo was another one who riding style didn't work well for SX[ not for a whole series anyway], but was amazing outdoors!

The next Barcia? Barcia's career isn't even over yet. Tomac has an outdoor title already if you really want to put him up against Tomac, stat wise

Tomac has a "Jr" (250) title, not a premier title. Absorb the entire post.

And yes, I guess we have 2 Barcias now.

I've been hearing this for a while now, but am still not convinced. Kenny and trey would be my guess. Barcia needs to get off that Yamaha to have a fighting chance again.

People probably didn't give Stanton a chance either. Eli reminds me of Jeff Stanton type...
3/15/2015 12:26pm
Eli is strong and has speed. Give him a little more time to learn tactics indoors and look out. Meanwhile the outdoor series looks very promising for him and in my humble opinion a more natural fit.

Whoa "Eli Tomac is a modern day Darrel Shultz. Blazing speed, but doesn't add up to the races wins it should."

Let me ask you a reasonable question Frog#1; based on you're assessment of Eli's current and future talent and potential, I would assume that you have actually participated in a AMA Super cross and therefor know what you're talking about. Have you participated in a AMA Supercross? if you have when and where?

If you have never participated in a AMA Supercross how could you accurately assess what Eli's current or future potential is?

Are you friends with the Tomac family? Have you spent any significant amount of time with Eli at the test track? If not, how could you accurately evaluate his strengths and weakness's?

As for you assessment of Darrel Schultz - its not amusing how guys like you disrespect the careers of Pro Motocross Legends - guys who worked hard and actually lived and fulfilled their dream of becoming a factory sponsored racer.

Frog#1 you get two thumbs down for disrespecting Darrel Schultz.
