Tomac and Savatgy bikes smoking

Did anyone notice they were both smoking? I wonder what was up with the bikes. Bummer for Savatgy to have a DNF, but at least he isn’t hurt!

I noticed both of them smoking in the heats... pretty odd...

Were they doing that in the main (before Savatgy's locked up)?

One lap tomac obviously mossed the triple without a big mistake in the main (when he lost 4 spots). Im thinkimg there were bike issues.....

Right there with you. At this point we are lucky that Tomac's bike made it.

I wonder if they will actually tell us like JGR did last week or just say it was an electrical issue?

Factory Kawi seems to do a mech DNF at least once a season for past couple years. WTF? Unacceptable. They are a premier team and brand, but what is going on.

Usually it's the clutch that is smoking on Elis bike. I assumed it was the same the for Savtagy until he DNF'd

alot of there issue comes from the idler gear shaft being the crankcase breather as well, when the clutch heats up and the teeth expand and same with the idler gear it puts pressure on the shaft and causes the shaft to woller out the bore, then the heat disperses into the case and it swells and the shaft turns causing there to be no crankase ventilation, have seen it for years when it builds pressure it blows the gaskets in bottom end causing the bike to lose oil pressure and eventually lock up, thats why you see alot of them broken.
