Too bad Dungey tangled with him off the start and then went down trying to pass Reed cause he had some speed. In his heat race on the corner before the finish line in particular was a jaw dropper!!! Full throttle with his feet on the pegs! Um...skilz

I dont like to say it but Roczen looked like a goon in his heat compared to Tomac.
But he better get going, 27 points out of the championship is not what he wanted after 6 races I guess

Tomac was on it. But if he wants the title he better starts clicking of those wins like RV did to gain massive points. You don't catch up 27 points to Dungey without going on a serious win streak. Other then that holy shit he looked fast in his heat. His corner speed in that long sweeper was unreal. I kinda wanna see the lap times of the main event (racerx makes cool articles about them later in the week) after his crash with Reed i wasn't really paying attention to where he was in the race and then suddenly he was in 5th so he must have put in some killer laptimes in traffic. Thought he would catch Reed again to i think he came pretty close at the line.

The kid has amazing speed. But seems to get caught up by little things all the time. He needs to learn consistency from Dungey.

Like others have said,His corners with the throttle wide open and both feet on the pegs was cool to watch. Even his jumping speed seems to be better then most of the other guys. If he starts putting it all together and making all that speed work he will wax the field.

His starts arent good enough IN THE MAINS. He cant play catch up every week and expect to win a title. I made this point b4 and someone posted pics that showed him getting good starts but literally just after the first turn in each race he gets swallowed up a couple of spots. He'll get a good jump and then lose a few spots where Roczen seems to do the opposite. Roczen will start 3-5ish range before first turn but by end of 1st turn he's running first or second. Roczen just seems better at finding some space or finding a lane in the first turn carnage.

LOL.

I think had he not tangled with Reed he would have at least battled Dungey for 3rd. But with the speed he had last night he could of easily gotten into the Canard/Roczen battle. Still a nice ride coming from 14th to 5th and nearly getting Reed for 4th.

It seems to me that KRoc can be a little more patient in those first few turns than Eli. In the same sense a great running back can follow his line patiently and then burst through a slight hole for a nice pickup. There is no doubt that Elk has the speed of all the top guys, he just needs to remain close in the beginning. Even as good as he is, he can't come from 14th to 1st with the spent he's facing. At least not consistently.

He was on it, it was cool to watch his name come up through the list. But even the nights he's gotten decent starts he hasn't been fighting for wins. Podiums yes, wins not so much. Kenny needs to step it up, he's been fast but he just does not look fast out there at all. Almost reminds me of Stewart in the lead, you expect him to pull away and he doesn't.

I was gonna say he looks a little impatient in the beginning laps of a race and should maybe calm it down a little and let the race come to him, but in his defense, with the caliber of talent out there, and the points deficit he probably can't afford to wait around. He needs to be scoring more points that the guys 20+ points ahead.

Now, if only he could get a start.Tongue

Tomac already had good starts. Twice this year, he was in third, had clear track, but couldn't ride the pace of both riders in front of him and even faded. He's fast, probably the fastest when he's on it, but is no superhuman...

If he got the same start that Kroc had last night he would have won big, same with A1. I would say he's usually 5-8.

Dungey has both. He's fast and smart.

Tomas has crazy speed at times but that alone won't get you a title in a long series.

You made yourself look like a major dipshit before, but apparently didn't learn. You first said "6-8th place at best" AT BEST!! And now he's 5th, which is better than your claimed "at best", but now to you, 5th is his normal bad riding?? Make up your mind, dumbass.

Markit is the usual Vital farmer. He plants a quick, one-sentence seed of absolute ignorance in each thread he visits...then disappears, just watching it grow.

Your definition of "killed it" is way different than mine.... To me killing means gaining a bunch of points, not losing even more...

I find Tomac so frustrating. There is no denying his raw speed, when everything is right for him he can be unstoppable, but he's just way too inconsistent for someone who wants to win the title. Some put it down to bad starts, but there's been times this year where he's got the start and then not managed to do anything with it. It just seems like he doesn't quite have that calmness and race craft to just grind out results every week in the way that Dungey seems to be able to do

Lets not forget that this his first full year of racing 450. Last year was a wash with the injury.
