Not a lot of TMR riding videos. Here is one of mine from 2019. This is the 315cc stroker Tom builds. Engine had slight water leak in cylinder, little rich and geared a little tall with squeaky breaks (fresh build), but was still a beast.

Whoever thumbed this down has surely found pleasure in blowin' trannies.

Yeah possibly! Never really look at dislikes Smile

Here is another one I forgot about back in 2019. Bike was running awesome this day. I guess I'm a TMR fan.

Sounds Great Coach529. Didn’t Tom do Black foot Honda cr250 engines ? Anyone have a 05-07 cr250 TMR engine work done ?
Anyone have a 05-07 cr250 TMR ported engine or a yz125 ? Thx

Had a 98 yz 125 done by TMR for a summer. Had a flat Honda piston in it and a washer under spark plug for clearance . Lots of top end with no bottom. For a bigger 125 rider and maybe not fast enough I missed the bottom.
I've done a lot of testing in the past 23 years, I think that you will find that my YZ125 works quite well now Smile

Years ago, I heard TMR stroker crank cr125 -Scooter- John Greaves bike was a rocket. I ,m calling on a low hr 04 cr125. The ultimate tuners challenge engine. I just Love that 04 chassis. My JM racing 04 cr125 stroker crank missile was stolen. Just quit working for the Russians In Chicago, wanted to stop by Tom,s shop and tell him. In the near future I will sending you a weak but very sexy 04 cr125 engine. That no one wants in there life and was abandoned in a corn field in Iowa. gets laughed at when she lines up at a starting gate. In much need of attention and mid range magic improvements. But I was too beat. Haha

I now have just shy of 300 miles on this set up. 1 day at the MX track and the rest riding off-road.

For off-road it is unreal how well it lugs down to almost nothing and just chugs along. The torque down low for technical climbs and obstacles is unreal. It is the best off-road bike I have ridden in a long time.

For moto I need some more time on it. I have added a FWW and longer silencer since the last day I was at the track.

Did you find it needed a FWW for offroad? Never ridden a 2 stroke over 250cc with a FWW, wondering if it makes a great impact.

It worked good without the FWW, but it works better with it IMO.

Good to hear the Tom Morgan 295 is working great for you. I'm in the same boat and thinking of trying a 285 or 295 again. Trying to decide TM295 or Max Power 285, oh the decisions....

I can’t speak for Max Power, but I shipped my 4 stroke engine off to Tom Morgan on April 19th. He is great at responding to emails and questions. I’m still waiting on it to come back, but knew upfront he is busy and I stated up front I wasn’t in a huge rush. I definitely recommend him just for the communication, but I also think his results/reviews/experience and pricing are the best.

Coach529,

Have you been riding the YZ295 lately. Would like to hear more of your thoughts on the TM295. I spoke to Tom and he said he can tailor the power band if needed. Both would like to hear more from TM295 owners. Getting ready to send off cylinder to Tom.

I had the TMR 295 before the TMR 315 stroker.

The 295 in comparison to stock, it's more amped up bottom to mid. The square bore is hard to get more top end.

Tom will steer you the right way.

Not near as much as I had hoped, our weather has been super hot and smokey this summer.

For off-road it is damn near perfect. Off idle pull through the midrange is amazing. I have ridden it back to back with a couple 300's and it shines in every way.

For moto I need some more time on the bike. I am a revver, so I need some more time to teach myself to short shift and use the torque available.

Overall I have no regrets.

Good to hear. I figured it had a low to mid range power band. Most of the 295's I read seem to go flat on top end. Thanks for the feedback.

Going to be doing a project YZ250 soon and if the cylinder needs plating, I'll be going with the big bore.
(Secretly kinda hoping the cylinder is scored. hahahhaha)

They go flat up top because the 38 or so venturi carburettors usually fitted are too small- ie 125 size.

39.5-40mm bored PWK is what those 295++ bikes seem to like.

How is the bottom end with a bored carb?

They do go a little flat. 72x72 doesn't work well for top end. Tom Morgan will tell you this.

If you want top end you need to do 285/315 stroker. I think Tom builds them with the carb providing 41mm worth of airflow.

Get a STIC to top off the package. It will rip. Tom Morgan is by far the best person to work with if you want motor work

I always liked 14/48 on yz250’s, they have plenty of power stock to pull that gearing and makes the gears longer & smoother.

Is that airway heights mx? How is it?
