Not sure if this is old news or not but heres a link witha video from the show in italy.....https://moto-station.com/moto-verte/actu/tm-degainent-ses-enduros-2t-a-…
The Shop
The USA models are not imported as EFI - keep costs down and weight minimal - but ARE estart (still optional to go kick start)
EFI available to any USA consumer upon preorder/request but Ralf and most the dealers felt the beauty of the 2 stroke for most - is simplicity.
I've been drooling over the subframe.
If you are in texas and want to demo a 250f let me know
Pit Row
If I were made of money - which I sadly am not
Or had more time - which I've been slacking typing on vital - I'd love to be involved in the shootout by bringing my bike and getting to ride the others (but not being a part of the official results) - like a cali moto vacation.
But for me - the time lost, which is money for me, and the wear and tear - to very likely NOT finish first - wouldn't do much good.
The TM has it's place - and I LOVE my 250f - but it's not the best production bike. I think it's one of the best if not THE best handling bikes, and the engine layout has HUGE potential to make insane power which I will explore this year after I get some demos and hours on the thing (sitting at 3 hours right now)
One issue this year - the 19 450 wasn't stateside when the 450 shootout was being done. I think 3 weeks behind or so.
A birdie has told me that possibly next year you should see some TM's in a shootout or two.
If I had to wager - for a pro level rider, the TM would finish slightly ahead of the honda in overall results.
You have to remember the air box is where the gas tank usually is (looks big) and the gas tank is where the air box usually is - cant even see it in that photo.
The engine DOES look big on the 450 head wise
My 250f engine looks TINY in the head area. Off hand - with the estart, spring SSS fork, and kickstarter STILL on (can be removed) the tm450 is within 2 lbs of yzf (I might be wrong - but that's what I recall)
Rumor is the 2020 450 will be heavily updated - as the engine is a very old platform for TM - which has had HUGE success in supermoto.
At MXDN - I'll say that "tank" shown was a missile - clearly was one of the hardest pulling bikes on track - and Nagl went from near holeshot to crash to dead last - all the way up to past Roczen in the last moto when roczen was up front and went back.
So maybe the Indian was just skilled that day - but I'd say his Arrow had to be quite good as well - to catch and pass 30+ riders including roczen
although not true for the 19 250f and 2 stroke efi models.
350 bucks for a connect cable and "license" and you can tune your life away - on all the bikes with one cable.
Have you had a chance to ride the 300 2T? I'm VERY happy with my '18 CRF450R, but want to know how a TM 300 2T would stack up for a 55+ B rider--I picked up a TM125 earlier this yer as a play bike and fell in love with TMs.
Thanks,
Brian
The people that build these bikes are so proud of what they do and take such care in their craft. Impeccable welds, hand finishing and the ability to customize in the factory before it ships to you is unlike any other manufacturer in the world!
FORZA TM!!!

The 18 and previous model is always well received - great handling, durable engine that has good power
Word is the new bike with the counterbalancer transforms the old two stroke experience to a pleasant non vibrating torquey bike. Ill try to get one on my next round of bikes - but most have already been pre sold (I presold the one I ordered already)
Moving forward im really excited for the new 250 and 300 - they blow a stock yz out of the water and this new bike should be a genuine contendor vs the ktm - where each bike has their strong suits user preference
Most riders will be faster on a 450 - but with a little massaging the 300 can produce on par power and light weight feel - electric start is a huge plus too
Hopefully the magazines take interest in the 300 and give it a fair shake
