Yeah yeah yeah, another tire thread.. i couldnt find an answer based off the dirt we have in so cal..

I currently have on the MX33 Dunlops, i usually run the Pirelli MX32 soft front, and the mx32 pro rear...

But that being said i want to try the starcross tires.. i mainly ride Perris Mx and Milestone, with every now and then riding cahuilla or pala..

Should i pick up the Soft or the medium?

I have been using the Hoosier x20 rear and the Dunlop MX33 front. Couldn’t be happier....

get the medium. Or do a soft front and medium rear.

I only run X20s these days, I think they wear great personally, and for the money I think there is incredibly good value. Fresh pair of X20s makes me feel unbelievable confident cornering.

Hoosier IMX20 on the rear for ACP, Cahuilla, Pala, Perris, Loretta's and Milestone,,,,,IMX25 (Harder compound) for Glen Helen, Mammoth, and riding in the hills.....

Waiting for the Hoosier Front tire which I hear is incredible...till then it's Pirelli soft on the front

I run Starcross 5 Softs front and rear here in So Cal. The front's durability and grip are excellent, the rear grips excellent as well but does chunk side knobs here and there. I'll be replacing the rear with the Medium once it I notice it affecting the ride, I've ran the Medium before and I like how long it lasts while still gripping great. I'm more OCD on front tire choice than I am rear tires though.

soft front for sure - lasts well and better grip

Rear medium IMHO.

I ride pala, Perris, cahuilla and run medium star cross. Love the rear and seems to be holding up. After reading people’s suggestions on soft front I’m gonna try that next, cuz it seems like the medium front is prone to slipping/knifing.

i use the softs and and have raced at perris and milestone around 6 times in the last few months and got a few second place starts with them. i also raced the lake elsinore gp which had some asphalt and they are not chunking yet but i'm running a 1980 yz250 and not a 2019 450. i wouldn't know if mediums would work better or not.
