You should always speedshift once you get the front wheel up...

Ok don't do that, some kid will read this and i don't want to cause anyone to loop out.

Always make sure you ride the rear brake with a feathering action this helps keep you from looping it out. Good luck! ; )

Is a CR500 a good bike to learn how to wheelie ?

What I do is start it, put it in gear, and let the clutch out really fast while twisting the throttle too hard. Guaranteed wheelie.

Of course I don't do it intentionally.

Make sure you do it in the pits, before a race, right next to my truck. Do it with your front wheel four inches off the ground and the throttle pinned. Wind it out man!

And right at the end, look back and check out your roost.

A CR500 is a great wheelie machine. You can learn to find the balance point slowly while still being able to do pretty decent power wheelies. You'll find that you will find your balance point quicker on a more powerful bike........well, it worked for me. Now I can wheelie with the best of them. COVER THAT REAR BRAKE!
