and replace them with what, honestly?

More timing sections or more whoops, that's about it.

100' Tables?

Can't do Endurocross rock fields or telephone poles.

Can I mention the water pit and sharks with frikken lasers on their heads?

An interesting question. It’s hard to imagine not seeing the aerial heights only a triple produces in a stadium race, but would be open to other ideas. Honestly I wish there were huge doubles instead, but that might be too dangerous.

Everything I come up with slows it all down more and is less air time

Kinda curious about that, too. I can't remember the last time someone was really hurt because of a triple.

And they all have two options to choose from and neither are good

Watch SX from the 90s if you want to see good tracks.

Make big doubles that pop them in the air more. Similar to St Louis 2020. More air and less dirt because you take out the middle jump. I just feel with todays bikes that they are an outdated obstacle.

Can't speak for the OP but I'm for anything that gets the motocycles on the ground more than they're in the air. Most of the time it is close to fifty fifty and I think that is dumb.

I agree, but they were slower. They weren't going end to end of the stadium in two hops

id love to see them change it up and throw in some big booter doubles or something.

like the double at A1 in 2019.
it was a mud race but only a few riders sent the double

I'm all for more time on the ground if there's something there to challenge the riders, like a Mt. Martin, or Mt. Saint Helen, but that's not replicable in a stadium. So what do you propose they add to the track that would be challenging, but wouldn't turn a SX track into a TT track?

Make them Bigger.

Ratio them to the power equivalent of the four stroke era. Instead of 65-70’, 90-100’. Make it so it isn’t an automatic jump for even the slowest guy on the track. Every local track has a jump longer than a Supercross triple.

This is why I have mentioned that race car tracks on a large part of the schedule should be a serious consideration down the road.

The bikes and the talent have outgrown standard stadium floors.

The one that comes to mind is Canard getting landed on by Morais. Shitty situation.

Loop de loop.

I realized that nothing good or exciting happens over the big supercross triples... unless it's something really bad. Sure, occasionally, a rider botches an approach, and has to double, but that's not only rare, but creates the danger of being landed on. They're not so big that they're a challenge for 250s, and we don't see more-skilled riders able to gain any advantage over them.

So, I wondered if something better could be done. People have good ideas, so I asked.

In defense of triples, they give riders a tiny rest, a chance to shake out their hands, and grab a tear-off. For a lot of fans, probably mostly young and new folks, the height and length of their flight is super impressive. It's part of the spectacle, and maybe it's a big part of getting people hooked on the sport.

I think that racing is better on almost all other parts of the track, and would like more of that, BUT maybe the supercross triple is too important to ditch.

We need a big air section or sections on the track. I don't care if it's a triple or a gigantic double jump. I say keep the triples.

What's the alternative? More rhythm sections? Yay, we don't have enough of those. DryDizzy

Triples are the easiest section and its the resting spot to take a breather. I looked forward to the biggest jumps possible during every race as a chance to take a good breathe and loosen up the grip for a moment.

They really only need 1 on the track layout.

Here's what I think every SX track should have:

-1 Triple
-1 Finish Line
-2 sets of whoops- big and small set maybe
-3 rhythm sections
-6-7 lanes of track
