Incorrect Mr.lahey. I'm kinda doing two things here. One is waiting to buy a motor to have a complete no bullshit 450. And the other is welding together garbage. Why don't you go and have another drink so the liqour can let you see it clearly.

We had a guy in the UK build a CR500 engined Supermoto bike , using a 125cc frame.. it didnt fit , he tried to make it fit , we told him it was an accident in waiting, he knew better.. cable routing was awful , we told him to sort it , he didnt , it stuck wide open, he came off second best... in a discussion with a tree.

Frames are not hard to come by , buy one, it will save on the hospital bills later.

Ok, so there is a new ktm 450, minus a motor, and also that other frame with a 525?

That's correct, I'm looking for a better motor than the 525 for that frame, was kinda hoping to get a stock 2013-2015 450 engine for it. I have the all throttle body, exhuast, mounts and electrical and everything else.

Have you thought of putting a 250 2-stroke motor into the 450FE rolling chassis? It would be a cheap(er) alternative to keep you riding while saving up for a 450 motor.

I am curious. I am not afraid on modifications usually, I have seen a few frames, swingarms, carters, wheels, but cutting the frame that much seems to me quite hairy. Also, I dont see really the point, because a 525 frame cost like what, 150? Why not making small mods to bring the plastics of the 450 on the 525 frame?

That is nuts! Good job the guy is quite well built and solid, sort of looked like he was pumped up with air or padding maybe? He was lucky the bike did not collect him better(or worse!)
Kind of looked abit like members of Barcias crew, with the beards n' that- taking some time out n' having fun! (nearly killing himself)

We built some janky shit on the side in the baja shop, but... well.... stay safe. My half tubed 240sx rally car wasn't even this dangerous.
