Haven’t been to a SX race in years. Thought hey, I’m going to take my whole family. Six of us. Going to get decent seats. $85 each I see for anything close So a total of $665 for a family of six.

Guess we can go to the general higher up seats for $40 each.

I’ve been away too long and didn’t realize prices climbed this much.... family of six idea might be trimmed down to 2 or 3.

Probably from COVID. Less fans in the stadium, gotta make up the difference.

It's been ridiculously high for several years now. After what it cost for a family of 3 last year there is a real good chance we have attended our last SX ever. Outdoors is a way better value for what you get.

By the time you figure in parking and concessions for 6 for the whole day, you’re in well over a grand. Outrageous.

Nothing wrong with the upper seats. We bought $8 tickets back when for a last-minute Arlington and had a great time.

It's the FanFest/Pits that I like anyway.

I just bought tickets to indy 2 and they were significantly cheaper than the two Saturday dates. The ama discount code wasn't working so I'm guessing it's not eligible on the discounted ticket prices.

I look at it this way, 40 years ago it took me about 2 hours of work to pay for a ticket. Now it is less than 1 hour. The prices may be alot higher, but it takes half the effort to pay for one......

Wait until you put in that order and see the processing fees. I think it is about $15 extra per ticket.

Tickets are generally more in Jerry Jones' house.

Beer is better and cheaper at my house,
Food is better and cheaper
Couch is more comfortable,
I can rewind if I miss something,
Don't have to pay to park for an event I already paid for,
Don't have to worry about fighting traffic in and out,
Don't have to worry about DUI.

I wonder if my wife would get mad if I fired up the dirtbike in the house to get the smell of the race gas.

I take my kids to Arlington every year and my two cents for doing it is to get seats higher up than lower. They let you see the entire race. We tried some lower last year and we got to see only about half the track on our side of the stadium. The higher seats are cheaper too. We're going on the Tuesday race this year and tickets for that race were cheaper across the board than the Saturday races.

It's money well spent both for supporting the sport we love and the lifelong memories for your family. A small sacrifice elsewhere can help with the express.

Are you still allowed to come in and watch Practice and Qualifying or just the night show?

For Houston, you could only get in to watch the last qualifying session. Also had to pay an extra 10 bucks to do that with a Fan Fest pass. Not sure if Indy will have the fan fest as it the one in Houston was outside.

Soak a rag in some VP then throw it in the air vent closest to your couch. laughing

That's a great thought if the money went to the riders......

85? shit you can find tickets over 200 during the normal season. I would be excited that you can even go in person!

Don’t piss off the old people - the older they get the less “life in prison” is a deterrent for them!

This is what kept me from going..... the fee’s are 50%+ of the ticket price. I guess I could have bought tickets there but didn’t want the hassle. Ticketmaster et al must be making some serious money.

Well into $150 for any concert I take my wife to. I looked into Cowboy tickets once and the cheapest seats in the place were $150.

$85 isn't great, but it's not the worst. How much are tickets to any other motorsport event. This isn't baseball where they have +50 home games every year.

|

Sit courtside. Nba,. $85 isnt shit lol. $85 to see the best in the world is cheap.

As neysbo said, without the fan fest add on, you cannot get in to watch any practice or qualifiers, only the night show. I get the OPs question, though, as SUPERCROSS tickets have gone up alot. I get NFL tickets are higher, because there is alot more demand, but for SX, if you haven't gone in awhile, the sticker shock will hit you. Especially for an entire family, and when you have to buy blocks of tickets for these events now.

And for the record, I thought the live show was WAY more exciting than watching round 2 on TV. These riders are so unreal..........

I'm pretty much over going to a Supercross. Driving, parking, ticket prices, dealing with crowds and sitting outside in the cold are not preferable to my couch, popcorn, staying warm and going to bed while the winner is getting interviewed. Plus, I can see my TV better than I can see the bikes on track now days. I must be getting old.

Braaapin' aint easy.

I usually buy last min, sometimes after the opening ceremonies, many times I have scored tickets under $10. Now Arlington is a little different, lots of people go out there to tailgate with no intention of going into the stadium.

Seems pretty normal for a sporting event. Probably even on the cheaper side especially if it’s good seats.

|

1/22/2021 9:20 AM

There going to price the people out of going to SX and the Outdoors soon as well. Cheaper seats means sellouts and in the end higher revenue. To me it’s just greedy grabbing it while you can. Sit at home and watch tv.

Do you know why they made that TV so big?

So that God could watch the Cowboys lose too.

You'll have to bring something different than beer. I've got 20 gallons of beer on the kegerator and another 32 gallons ready to keg up. I'll provide the beer, and you can provide BBQ or hookers.

Don't forget getting stuck by a drunk that you have to sit next to. I about had a big blowup with a guy the last time we went that was running everything for all the people around him. At least outdoors you can just move somewhere else.
