I sustain a really bad tib fib compound and exposed fracture last year.
Any ideas on recovery time before trying to ride again. Im 47 so , im not rushing into, but i will like to have some insights from people with similar incidents
Thanks boys.

The Shop
4 weeks
2 plates 12 screws just above the ankle. A year later I had the metal removed because one of the plates was causing discomfort above my ankle knob (whatever its called).
I had more pain from my 2nd surgery. Nothing better then going into elective surgery feeling good and being wheel-chaired out in pain.
Intermedular titanium rod and 5 screws
Got the release a week ago under : thats the best is gonna get premise.
It feels weak and kind of 5 degrees to the right. I can walk almost without a limp but i put put load on it still hurts a bit.
Can run to save my life and my golf swing has a severe hook now.. lol
.
It's been 7 months now and no problem so far.
Your doctor will be honest with you when you ask, no bone heals the same for everyone but start hittin extra calcium and workin it out.
Pit Row
Since y'all are creepin me out with your battle wounds I'll share mine lol
Did this in June of last year
But having the rod pulled out left me in more pain than the original surgery After a few weeks maybe 4-5 I was back on the bike, nothing stupid just riding around.
I guess I would say it depends on the person health and age
But I am used too it now, and can still ride, so all is good.
My left leg when I was 22. I'm 43 now. Also took me about 3 months to get back on the bike. Take your time no need to rush it.
Take it seriously. Ortho injuries can have a long term impact on your quality of life. Especially as we get older. And age is something none of us can avoid.
