Hahah I see Mitchel Falk is still a bit salty. But I agree, this was a good move for him.
KTM / Husky / Gas Gas really need to sort there amateur to Pro program out.
& while there at it, they need to pull another 2-3HP up the start straight & get competive again!
That said, sure seems like Star doesn’t shy away from shady business dealings.
The Shop
I think the other manufacturers need to up there game. Which is odd because in GPs the KTMs are always up front off the start.
Not many rides to go around either.
As far as Star, you guys are completely right, they have never done shading dealings to get riders from other teams, especially involving amateurs. I apologize for making such a statement, Star is clearly known for doing everything on the up and up, honoring contracts, never protesting for ridiculous reasons, treating all media fairly, etc. Amazing team when it comes to business practice no doubt....
Pit Row
should be interesting to say the least
He could very well end up back at Star Yamaha with a pay cut. He was riding great until he got hurt again.
If you think star is really that bad, while I think is more some goofy or temperamental stuffs, then you would be reaaallly shocked at general business practices. The world is not white or black, but mostly grey. I wrote a couple pages about it in a thesis, and found in total, in the world, 13.000 billion dollars of identified frauds & other shady stuffs over a 30 years period. (about 100% of the average GDP of the US, through 30 years).
Right now for instance, Nikola looked to have shady practices ... by frauding just 30 billions to investors
They lose both Ferrandis and McElrath(assuming he isn't granted his appeal). Justin will be the only guy that has podiumed that is currently on their roster.
Going into '21, they will have Craig, Cooper, and 2 rookies. There is no way in hell I'm banking a title or wins on CC. If you're looking at Colt's past, you have to do the same with CC. He's 30 years old and has 1 win to his name. IMO Colt has a better upside than CC. Thrasher and Frye both have 0 SX experience so anything they do inside the top 10 is success.
Pure speculation on my part.
Rookies now a day usually only get 2 years to make a name for themself and I would rather be on a proven bike.
Those Star bikes are FAST!!
Either way, I won't be surprised to see him back at Star Yamaha or being let go.
A case can be made for both decisions.
