Yamaha keeps them around, KTM brought them back after the 144 only times, Husky is back, TM has them, Ping maintains his love affair , MXA seems to love them, Vital took the Husky Challenge and now is in the business of rebuilding a Craigslist gem. Hmmmmmm, all that's missing now is a 125cc National Championship.

How about that six round series to get the ball rolling DC?? I'm still good for some holeshot award money...

Wow, tough Friday.

Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. Sorry.

I do like the smokers though.

Not that tough. Just trying to steer the boat a little.

It make come as a surprise to some, but I like smokers, too. When the Superminis hit the track for their first practice at the MEC, I smiled when I caught a whiff of two-stroke exhaust.

I don't get the frequent need to keep bringing up the 125 thing, though. It's an interesting idea, but I think making it work would constitute some tough sledding.

I need more!

Have to say Steve, I'm surprised you dig smokers, reading your posts over the last couple of years gave me the impression you had little time for them.

This revival will definitely hold my interest, video was too short though Wink

Delete it, seems to me you didn't like the thread anyway.

Now do I think there is any real industry push or desire behind Newmann's post. No.

Would I like to see it, yes, but just because we WANT something doesn't seem to mean shit to anyone in MX anymore.

So me posting a truly irrelevant vid someone made having a mannequin fucking stairs seemed surprisingly appropriate.

Sorry Newmann, your idea just doesn't seem to fit with industry objectives.

I can only imagine it would go over about 10,000% better than the girl races. And I actually liked the girl races.

Neither did Glen Helen.

Industry push? Wow, I see a lot of companies out there that like the 2 strokes. Just because it doesn't fit a current tv schedule is a whole 'nother story. It could get rolling without the TV time. Just replay it on the net.

A riding buddy of mine has the Eric Gorr YZ144 kit, and I had so much fun on that bike. It does require more maintenance than a stock 125.

Sometimes threads go off the rail on their own. Sometimes they get random videos that do it.

I've actually been surprised over the last couple of weeks that people seemed to be posting more intelligently. It's a trend that I'd love to see continue. Smile

People also seemed to be a lot happier after some good news, like semis in SX coming back, as well as Glen Helen returning to the National schedule.

I want to send my motor off and have it completely gone through and big bore added.

Then load it up and get out to Texas and have some 2 stroke battles with Newman's KTM!

I completely agree, it seems as if there needs to be some great external push to force things to happen anymore. Complete and total disgust such has happened re; the shit box nationals(lower case to prove a point) aroused such passion that the powers that be had to take notice.

Seems the MFG's are quite content to put out enough units every year to just barely quench the thirst but not promote(racing exposure) the product to expand the desire. You have to make the promoters and MFG's desire that product be on a national stage and it just isn't there.

When 125jr, 85's, 65's and supermini hit the tracks it's truely a beautiful sound.

Deaf are those that make us listen to their cacophony of four stroke auditory assault.

Well, I know you don't think of yourself as a key player in this grand sport that we love but you are, here's what I'd truly like to see from Vital.

A voice.

Not just anyone snooping around trying to get dirt on who Miss Monster went home with but someone that can have a seat at the decision meetings so that our voice, us, we, those that keep this little slice of heaven going, can say our mind as the decisions are made.

It may sound far fetched but DC flits in here and amuses the masses from time to time but when the shit starts rolling do we really have anyone in our corner fighting for some of the things we want?

Didn't mean to screw Newies thread but I just think to the video earlier, seems like most of the time we're just humping stairs and no one really gives a shit about important things like where we came from. It's all about what's new and where can we make a buck and I'm sick of it.

Remember Courtney Duncan? Dare I say it but the only interest seemed to be that she was on a 125.

How about a 125 women's class?

How about a 4 race 125 "series" to start out where one race is held in each of the 3 general regions and the top 20 are invited to the last race of the season, invited not paid to get there.

The limiting factor is you cannot have raced a pro mx event, seems easy enough.

West, GH
Midwest, Redbud
East, Unadilla

Done.

Give the top 10 a free outdoor pro license for the next year and some contingency goodies.

Post a reply to: Those 125's refuse to go away....
