The most epic first moto of all time and 10:30 minutes left in the moto all the way till 7:15 left the battle box is on watching (no disrespect to Anderson) but come on production crew? I’m coming out of my chair over the brewing battle of the leaders and we’re on split screen?

I'm watching on my lap top and the battle box gives me two small screens which I cannot see very well. Aaagh well...just gotta live with it.

Battle box sucks but even worse is drone footage in the battle box. Way too much drone coverage as well. Show us on the ground in your face coverage for the best championship battle ever.

I understand the concept of sharing 2 actions at the same time but the execution is horrible.

Why can't the splitting be done better? this is not rocket science, we have had split screens for a few decades now, go vertically, go horizontally, have one bigger than the other, small screen in big screen.. etc..

Use the wasted space to either have ads AND explanations...WHO IS BATTLING WHO?
here we are with a 46" screen and two miserable boxes where we cannot really see who and what is going on.

while you are at it, why not have a DOUBLE BATTLE BOX ROYALE, put four smaller screens... or 16...
With ads for Brando and OWW my balls...

Not sure when they thought drone footage from 5k ft is a good idea and then lets put it in a split screen about a quarter of the size of our TV's. So frustrating and while I'm at it can we get a normal banner for riders pos etc and not take up the whole left side of the screen. I appreciate all the work that these guy's do but this seems like low hanging fruit that a competent production crew could figure out.... Someday I hope we can get a Paul Malin type in the booth too, that guy is awesome!

Ohh WOOOW I thought they were promoting Battle Bots this whole dam time. I have been thinking, like, Why the hell are they promoting that show (which is great). Now my mind is blown. Thanks for this post because I went the whole season like WTF.

That was about as frustrated and angry as I have ever been in my 40 years watching sports/moto. That damn battle box got the best of me the last few rounds, battle over.

That might be the case but if it is, fuck them if they’re paying extra for me to have to sit close to my giant Tele to see what the fuck is going on for almost the entire moto.

And if it’s not them paying extra, which I doubt it would be obviously, then as always, Bondo, you suck at your job.

Dear THOR advertising department, thanks for turning my television into 2 half size screens that are hardly visible and usually irrevelent to the important racing that is actually taking place. Please spend money elsewhere.

Good point. There are instances where I don't mind the "battle box", but it could be executed better. I'm sure they required a minimum usage per moto to sponsor it, because I was confused as hell why they were following the Anderson/Noren battle so closely...

Dont know what size you have but it ain't any better on a 65". Im pretty sure it would suck ass on an 80" or whatever people have now too.

Correct seating distance to a 65" is about 7' and its still underwhelming and annoying.

I posted before reading the whole thread, smoothie confirmed my feelings with his 100" projector. Its like split screen games, the screen gets bigger but it just means its more obnoxious.

By my measurement and calculation, each 'box' is 18.1% of the total available viewing area. When combined with zoomed-out / drone shots and unlabeled boxes, made things completely unwatchable.
Was the MavTV crew responsible for this stupidity? I don't know how anyone could think this was good idea, whether for the viewer or the sponsor of the segment. Idiots.

I don’t understand why the main screen is also so small..
supercross has a full screen and the Picture in Picture is actually really good.. I was so fucking close to my screen trying to watch the most exciting moto in years asking why TF are we watching Anderson ride around in 7th

Serious question directed to DC and/or anyone else on here that is responsible for the TV production efforts. Do you yourself ever sit down and watch these races on TV? Do you not honestly see that many of our complaints are justified?
The Battle Box screens are way too small. Throw in a drone shot that is way too high and it’s damned near impossible to tell who we’re looking at.
I get it, MX is a lot more difficult to shoot than SX in a football stadium but, at minimum, we the viewers/fans at home should be able to tell the difference in riders.

And as soon as they throw in the battle box...that's not labeled and can't see....they introduced rodman....now the announcers are up his ass and not talking about the races...so now we have no clue what we're watching...
