Not a surprise, but a big shame.

Nice guy, great rider, shame his injuries held him back when he looked like he had a good shot.. i felt he had the possibility to do what Osborne has , based on his speed here.

And to think the MX community had all these theories about why his performance was suffering, all along it was as simple as; he just didn't want to take the risks anymore.

All the best in the future TC.

I can’t say that I’m too surprised at this news. I didn’t think he would walk away at his age, but it seemed like a long way back from where he was to where he needed to be. Sometimes you can just tell when someone’s heart isn’t really in it any more. Good luck to him, hope he has an enjoyable and successful life after racing

As already mentioned, not a big surprise. I wish we could have seen more of Big Air Tom after the great rides in MX2.
Smart guy, probably also found a keeper, he will be fine. Hope he does well with whatever he does next!

Wishing him all the best in whatever comes next. What a testament though to the guys that have came back from gnarly injuries and still choose to throw caution to the wind and hold that fucker pinned. A rare breed, that's for sure.

From representing team USA in 2017 to an early retirement in 2020, a bit of a shame and really had hoped he could come here and be a contender when he tried. Regardless, congrats on your career big air Tom, and good luck in the future.

Just goes to show how critical it is to be on point with the whole package. mind, body and bike to be on top if you are missing one of those it could knock you off and out.
Even so congrats great achievements extremely hard fighter definitely a guy to look up too..

Good for him. Dude had an amazing career by any measure, something any amateur coming up would dream of.

Best of luck Big Air. Thanks for representing the Stars and Stripes over the years.

I expected him to find a UK only deal on a 250f for next year. Doesn't sound likely from reading through though.

The age rule in the GPs didnt help him, before he left the 250 GPs to return to the states hes was a genuine contender at every race.
Great style and the speed to run with the top guys, plus a MXDN team member

Unfortunately we know how his return to the USA went, but then hes no longer eligible to return race 250GPs thanks to that stupid age rule

450s were'nt kind to TC64
Met him at Hawkstone earlier this year, very nice guy
I wish him well with his future endeavors
