Is that the bike which is - or at least was - on display in Bill's Motorcycles up in Salem? I visited them a few years ago while in the US on business, and was surprised/delighted to find a works bike sitting on shop floor.

Nice guys too.

Yep. Bill still has the Lamson bike on display in his new shop.
Cant say it is the one he rode in competition, but it is a legit factory bike.

Bill and his crew are awesome. Best support ever from those guys!

Thanks for the confirmation!

My trip to Bill's was memorable for a few reasons:

- the works Husky on display (and the cool story of how it had got there)
- driving the wrong way down a one-way street in my excitement of having reached Salem from San Jose
- getting stopped by a police highway patrolman for speeding on I-5 (and talking my way out of the ticket)

Happy Days.

This is probably a different bike.than the one at Bill's. This one was given to Greg Primm by Lamson and was in his private collection. I'm sure Steve raced several bikes though in his 2 years with Husky.

Check this sweetie I found on Craigslist. Looks like a PC pipe, suspension work and a Fast By Feracci graphics kit (what's left of it) for starters. Any Hunkavarnish nuts around Mississippi?

Nice write up. Your use of the word classic for a 2002 makes me feel ancient. Are the 70s machines now prehistoric? Sad

LOL. The Classic Steel name was something Matthes and Greg came up with. Apparently when Greg sold his collection he's sold the rights to use the "Primm Collection" with it. Weird, but because of that we had to use a different name for the column. And yes, at this point most people do probably consider the seventies prehistoric.

Great times and had good times watching Lamson racing this Husqvarna in Barcelona and Madrid.

Take a look at my youtube channel, I uploaded SX of Barcelona and SX of Madrid and Lamson is racing against Pichon, Larocco, Coppins, Wey, Brown:
