I posted this a couple years ago, its my uncle jumping over 300 ft back in the 70's. Anyways, I thought it was worth another post.

Your uncle Bob really cracks me up! That's gold right there.

Almost sounds like sound effects when he lands.

That almost looks doable.

That was great! Barely bottomed the suspension when he landed. Thanks for the post.

Yea and did you notice him start to take flight before he even left the ramp? I've wondered if this video is what inspired Pastrana and the nitro circus to try it on their show, though they failed miserably.

Dude.....that is just simply awesome!! A great idea actually.....not for me , but for someone with a big set of brass ones. My luck the kite would fold right on take off.

I wish he was, but no he has passed, and sadly I never got the chance to meet him. He died filming a TV ad in Hawaii, the chopper filming him got to close and his prop wash blew him into the cliffs.

This jump isn't even that big though, he flew his kite bike off of saddleback and flew prob ten miles, I give my dad shit all the time for not getting video of that.

Gotta love the fact that he did it on a CR250M.....2 stroke and 7/4 inches of travel.

Astonishingly remarkable!

I love the open face.

You shouldn't post this year though.

Once this gets back to Red Bull they might try to one up him.

I hope they try it, that would be bad ass if someone could pull it off again, especially with how far hang gliders have come since then.

Dude!!! I saw your Uncle doing this personally as a youngster on one of our twice a month riding trips to El Mirage.

It had to be him. I stopped and watched forever. None of my friends believed me and when l took one with a month or so later we saw his ramp but he wasn't there. We were so bummed.

Sorry to hear he passed. This is a memory l'll carry to the grave so your Uncle is in some ways both on video and in memories still with us.
