I always laugh when MXA has trouble removing the gas cap on KTM's. Seriously, it's not that hard...

The hare scramble yesterday was a sea of orange, as usual..many, many 12 model 2-strokes. A number of riders have switched back to 250 or 300XC models or 250SX's

I'd vote for 2001 Cr250 with a 2000 PWK carb

I liked it better than my '03 and '04 YZ250. I had a Polini Supervalve on it and it made the V-force feel like a stock block with broken reeds, it ran like it had no rev limiter

I didn't click link, but if any of you think any other 250 2 stroke is as good... You're mistaken.

That 12 ktm motor rips. Right off idle the thing is a beast. No other 250 2 stroke even comes close, not even slightly.

No, it won't beat a 450.

Anyone who is going back in time to pick the best 2-stroke, I guarantee you hasn't ridden a new KTM.

For some of you, It's time to move on, the 90's are over.

There's a new sheriff in town and it's called a 250sx........

That thing will out-brake anything else for sale. Properly set up, and in the hands of a capable rider the KTM 250 is a muderous machine. The thing is, very few top level motocross racers have ridden/raced a 250 two stroke in a long time, if ever. In places like Australia, where the bike is allowed in the Lites class, I wonder why the pros don't race it that are on the KTM teams.

I bet Andrew Short and Mike Alessi would have been better on that bike last year in supercross than they were on the 350 even with that stupid unleaded fuel rule. Less weight and more horsepower.

I'm going with the 2000 or 2001 CR250.

I'd like to buy a 2012 ktm 250 but I just can't imagine it handles or turns better than my 2007 CR250

That is quite possibly the most bad-ass looking machine ever.

Do you have any friends that have one you can ride?

Come on down to NC, i'll let ya ride mine. My buddy rides a 2006 YZ250 and he likes my bike a lot better and mine isn't even a 2012, it's a 2009.

I should really try and get in on one of those ktm demo days if I ever get the chance. I may never buy one but the KTMs sure do look interesting these days.
