...the MX championship will be defended by the previous champion.

2006 Champ - RC
2007 - RC ran a partial schedule, did not defend. Langston won the championship.
2008 - Langston could not defend, health issues. Stewart won the championship.
2009 - Stewart chose to ride the couch after signing with L&M. Reed won the championship.
2010 - Reed will line up at Hangtown to defend his #1 plate.

That makes CR1 alright in my book. Man, I'm ready for MOTOCROSS!!!!!!

I can't say I have a favorite this year...I don't dislike any of the riders. I do kinda hope Reedy comes out swingin' cause I don't think he's gonna be around too much longer. He's made his money and I hear he's kind of a big deal on that island he's from. Plenty of opportunity for him back home. He's pretty crafty and he'll need to be cause there's some pretty fast guys gonna lay it down this year.

Don't get me wrong...I hoping Dungey gets it done but Reed has my respect for defending his #1 plate. It wouldn't piss me off to see either one win it.

Go Townley!! It will be a successful season if he can finish top 5 every race and finish injury free! He said himself that if he gets top 5 at Hangtown he would be happy. He said the same thing in 07 before Hangtown and he came out and surprised himself and took the overall.

Everyone seems to be underestimating Shorty in a contract year. A lot of people asking if he'll have a ride for 2011 - I think contractually, if he wins the title, he has the same red ride next season. That is a strong motivator.

Yep, gotta give it up to Reed. Also, I think he feels like he needs to prove he's still the fastest. There were some laps at LV where you could tell he was pushing it but he didn't want to ride too much on the edge (for good reason). I think he wants to come out and prove something.

Wish RV was racing, but if I had to bet I'd put money on Dungey. The kid is solid and very consistent in the outdoors. Watch out for Trey as well.

No matter how much I root for Shorty, I just have the feeling he isn't there speedwise...

But I sure do hope I'm wrong and we'll see Andrew do battle for 1st place with - whom I think will be upfront - Reed, Dungey, Grant, Alessi and Townley.

I just want to see great racing and hopefully, guys like Hahn, Regal, Millsaps, 2x Moss, Cunningham, Dietrich, Metty, Byrner, Brayton, Reardon and more will be all close together.
