Worked today, so watched when I got home, fast forward everything other than the racing. Now all packed for yearly trip for the next 2 SX races and 4 days riding. Maybe I will start looking at coming over for out door races instead.US$12000 starts adding up for 15 days.

Shit Tony. No wonder you are working on Sunday.

Sounds worth it though. Have fun.
My yearly get away, could do it cheaper, but do it properly, that’s airfares, hotel , rental car , bike hire through MX Vacations, quite a lot of speeding money, and extras at SX.

This... Semi's were meaningless. A 125 or super mini class would kick ass. The most exciting racing and clear fan favorite at MEC has been the Super mini's!

Maybe I am getting old but so is Supercross and its new format. I think it would be safe to say we are seeing less racing on TV in a very long 3 hour show. The racing so far has not been that exciting. Add in a lot of the top riders getting injured in just the first 2 races, plus all the other top riders already injured before the season even started that are not racing, Ralph will still tell us how stacked the field is for 2018, even though most of the riders I know nothing about and most have 3 digit numbers. We the fans are supposed to sit and watch 3 hours of TV to only get to watch an hour of racing?.The TV show is about 1 1/2 hours too long with a lot of worthless crap. Supercross is racing not a damn reality show. We the fans deserve better racing in the stadiums and on TV. I quit going to the races because it is not worth my time or money. I just DVR the races, then I wait 1 to 1 1/2 hours to start watching or wait till the next day and fast forward through everything but when the gate drops and the checkered flag waves which is almost an hour. This is not a 500 mile Nascar race with a screwed up and confusing 3 race format with some kind of chase involved. It is 35 minutes plus two laps of racing 250 and 450 dirt bikes that do not run pre-mix with a bad format and a few terrible 3 race formats involved. To my amazement there is also not a 125cc 2-Stroke class. The only chase so far is the medical crew and that Kawasaki Mule to pick up all the injured riders. I know the AMA and Feld could really care less except for all the money they make on Supercross. They do not mind cheating the riders with what they call purse money. Without riders they would have no Circus Show at all. The OEM factory and other teams along with all of the sponsors are idiots to pay the riders incomes instead the purse money should be the rider and teams income. But then that does allow the OEMs to have a lot of power over the AMA. They already spend a fortune on loosing money running race teams and sponsoring riders. Think about how screwed up this whole Supercross "Circus Act" really is. All I can come up with is WTF is going on with our sport???

Get rid of the semis, throw in a 10 or 15 minute supermini race. Have the main qualifying done in the day.

I guess Im the only one that is totally bored by any of the qualifying.

I’d rather there were 10 “elite” teams. 20 pros. Any discplacement. Basically MotoGP with 3 main events back to back to back. 1 hour live TV show. Live stream the practices & timed qualifying for the die hards.

The current broadcast is indeed tedious & long & boring. But adding more trivial races wont fix it. You guys are literally suggesting that they add MORE filler.
True.

The rules and classes are already decided, but I still find it quite curious that there is a tremendous amount of PARITY in the 2 classes.

53's- 5 450's 2 250's 7 total
54's- 9 450's 6 250's 15 total
55's- 2 450's 6 250's 8 total

There is your top qualifiers. 16 in the 450's and 14 in the 250's as of round 2 before more injuries.

Wow some of the responses so far are really surprising. I had no idea we as collective fans were so devided on this. Im a fan of all the racing, the more the better. I love watching guys like Bubba Pauli, Michael Akayden, 722, 723, Greco, etc try to get in the main, its all good racing. I usually plan my saturdays around being able to watch the races and a 3 hour show for 1 1/2 hours or less of racing is not good. And for the crazy price of tickets to go warch live we should get to see more racing.

I've been to both rounds and will do all the West Coast, along with Daytona.

I'd like to see more racing myself, but it's far from boring !

Especially when the Bar has no lines and is only 100' from your seats !

I agree in that I love to watch racing, the heats, the semi's, the LCQ's. I love to watch the battles at the front and the back-not just the big dogs. Plenty of good racing back there, in a much more desperate way sometimes. I do miss the semis and can't see the harm in fitting in 2 more 5 minute races to create more opportunities for guys to get exposure and more experience as a racer. Surely there is time.

Other than that, the tracks have been great and there has been plenty of good racing. Bummer for MM and Tomac but there are other guys that see opportunities and are going for it.

The gap should work with the 3 moto main format. This is probably why it is what it is right now. We will find out at the next Anaheim.

I wonder what it costs to produce all that 'filler' bollocks... people come to watch racing , and gates drop.

I love when people say semis are meaningless so let's add another truly actual meaningless race like little boys racing. Ponderous!

The new format sucks. It was so much better with the semi races. It doesn't even seem worth to attend a race in person when you have less than an hour of racing during a 3 hour event.

It's hard to justify three hours of tv when it's just wasted time. I want there to be more racing. I think the triple main nights are going to be even worse.

Cut the program down to 2 hours. Wasn't that DCs and everyone's excuse why moto couldn't be on one channel? That no network would give them 3 hour time block? SX keeps pushing this 3 hour program, cut it down to 2 hours (reduce ticket prices too!), Make Supercross Great Again...

Last year we had 69 minutes plus 10 laps of scheduled racing in a three hour program. We now have 69 minutes plus 8 of scheduled racing. The difference is fewer starts but it sure seemed like a lot less racing to me.

Add a Vital Battle Of The Banned Gladiator Fight To The Death.

2 banned Vital members battle it out for the ultimate redemption to be able to post up again and also thin the herd.

It's a win, win, win!

Wait, you can't just take away everyone's point about less racing like that. Rude man, just rude.

They need to make the heat races and the mains longer. A 15 +1 heat and a 30+1 main.

Dream format:
3 heats per class
Top 6 from each heat transfer to main
Top 4 in the LCQ
Points paid to podium finishers 3,2,1 consecutive in the heats. Gate picks staggered

30 more min of racing right there
More airtime for the for more riders

Great idea. I understand why they got rid of the semis but there needs to be more value for the money. addimg another heat would do that plus would give privateers some more airtime

I'm looking forward to the 3 moto format.
Also, I wish the 250 class was combined every week. I think the east/west thing has run it's course and isn't needed.
I have to admit I like the segments about women riding moto. Pretty cool to see a female Attorney doing mx.
