My take aways:
-Reeds gear looked lit
-Does Zach really use starting blocks to stand on?? ( serious question - is he that small? )
-I'm pretty sure Eli never touched his clutch that whole race
Great piece, boss, enjoyable read

Anyone know how tall he is? I saw him for a split second at the USGP of Glen Helen a couple years ago. He looked to be atleast 5'8-5'9
Even if you don’t need to use start blocks I feel comfortable on the gate in a rut. No rut? Hello start blocks.

I think his clutch was gone at the end. I re-watched the race and on the last lap you can see him taking his hand off the bar and adjusting the clutch on 2 different jumps.

How long has it been since a rider sponsored by an energy drink wasn't represented on the top step of the podium?

Ah this makes sense. I was wondering why we are seeing a lot more start blocks this year - to make up for the lack of rut?

Zach's 5' 6". I know this because I read it one of the moto mags where it listed his weight as 160. I'm also 5' 6" and 160 and it made me puff up like a lizard to know that I'm the same specs as Zach. Now I just gotta work on my whoop speed....
And, yeah, I'd use starting blocks, too if they were in the budget.

We know we missed some action. You must of missed the part where the first half of the night wasn't televised.
Got a kick out of C. Craig doing the...."Ole Great One" gesture while riding alongside Brayton. Two great sportsmen.
There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear.
