Jarek Balkovic is racing in Bostogne, Belgium today. Doing good, he's third in his heat race at the moment.

He's riding the 125 European Championship-class. A kind of a stepping stone class to the big leagues. Smile
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

I would argue that most have Western European roots. Either way, my point is that he must be pretty closely tied to his roots to be running the OG ethnic name.

Look at all the people with Irish roots in the USA but how many Ruadhris or Siobhans do you know?
Lots of people with German roots but how often do you run across a Helga, Dagmar, Franz or a Dietmer?
Same can be said for Pierre, Pascal, Thor, etc etc etc....

I wouldn't even have mentioned it if this kid's first name was Ryder or Taylor, or Austin. Be he's straight running Jarek!

Anyway, aside from a few Czech and Estonian riders, Eastern Europe is not really on the MX map. That's why I find it cool that this kid is out there making a name for himself. Even if he is in fact an American kid.

List a few highlights of your career:
I won Loretta Lynn’s in 2007.
Got a second in the 9-11 85 class at Mini O’s in 2008.
I was 2nd overall in the 85 12-13 class in 2009 at Mini O’s in Supercross.
I am a consistent top five-ten national rider.
I am going to make it happen on big bikes in 2012.

Back to 13th now, his lap times have fallen off a bit. Could have a problem.
