Definitely times have changed. However considering that Tomac is the most successful current rider and he agrees with the OP, I think it's a worthy point.

I think the riders need each other. Riding solo doesn’t work for a lot of riders. It’s a new era..everything is pushed to the peak right now. RC4 changed that and it’s been this way ever since.
