Was watching 1992 outdoor motocross season review, and since it ran within the supercross series it got me thinking.

Since our sport is unique and we have Outdoor and Indoor racing, Why has a Master Championship Title never been tried?

Simply combine all the points between supercross and motocross etc for a Master Title.
Keep the supercross titles and motocross titles as well but have the big dog title.

As EngineIceDave alluded to, It was done decades ago :

David Bailey's Blue Plates

And as stemme12 put forward, there's 2 very separate series. And one, SX, seems to never acknowledge that the other, MX, exists.

Ahh ok, that makes sense... I wasn't even born yet, when the blue plate was around.

But that needs to comeback somehow, someway.. seems effing badass

How many #1 plates do we need. It gets confusing.

A grand national champ would not be confusing.

No #1, just blue background similar to red for points leader.

Wait is that why my old xr dual sport has blue plates? The bike’s older than me so I thought it was just retro styling and had no meaning.

Discussed last week, and your past champions would be...

Would be cool if they did it with just AMA SX and MX for an overall Champion. Just for fun, let's see who would've won the last few years.

2018 - Marvin Musqin
SX- 347 - 2nd
MX - 511 - 2nd
Total - 858

2019 - Eli Tomac
SX - 361 - 2nd
MX - 521 - Champ
Total - 882

2020 - Eli Tomac
SX - 384 - Champ
MX - 321 - 3rd
Total - 705

Why did McGrath have a blue plate in '94? Serious question

Camel Supercross defending champion plate. Stanton and JMB also ran it. Not the same as the grand national championship from the mid-80's.

Oh yeah, that's right I forgot about Stanton and JMB rocking the blue too. Thanks! I sure am glad Monster Energy doesn't require green plates these days lol.

Imagine how good the Camel blue plate would have looked on this, so close:

That would be a fun statistic adding points from last year who would be the overall champ.
