Deegan’s just learning what racing is.
Don’t want to confuse him facts. Apparently, reading comprehension isn’t his strong suit. And, those race stats were after breaking both my feet in 37 places, and my back at 13, and told I would never walk again, let alone ride, or ride at the highest level as a professional racer all over the world.
He obviously, just wants to continue to rehash a childish mistake that was done as a joke from years ago, with no malicious intent, and act holier than thou, and attack and hate on me. It must be nice to be so perfect, and such an accomplished pro rider, who knows so much about the industry, like Mx196.
As far as Deagan, he’s talented, but his dad has the money and time to get him the best bikes, training, etc., so he has a significant advantage over most riders, isn’t on a fair playing field, hasn’t proven himself, is overrated, and isn’t out there beating older riders that are pros or racing up classes.
Further, when he does go pro, I think he’s in for a rude awakening, and I don’t think he is as talented, as much so, as his dad is at marketing him and selling his talent. He doesn’t race riders unless he knows he can beat them, or if they may challenge him, or tarnish his race record, which makes him appear to be a better rider than he actually is.
At that age, I was racing and beating pros, and didn’t have the money his dad has to give me a significant advantage in equipment, training, time on the bike, etc. from the start of me racing, like he has had. That’s all I’m saying. Nothing against him, and any dad in his dad’s position, would do the same for their child if they could afford to do so, and want the best for them.

Both worthy threads, IMO.
AT THAT POINT, WHO WAS SUPPORTING YOUR EFFORT? From 2002 through 2004 we had strong support from Honda in terms of parts, bikes and technical support from the race team. I do not know many other Amateurs who were able to get to that level where you are actually communicating with the engineers to get better performance, so that was an edge for us.
So Jeff lets talk about a "significant advantage"

However, based on talent, and hard work, my brother and I became the first factory backed Amateur Honda riders in our teens, which obviously gave us an advantage, as far as bikes, over kids that didn’t have that support or parents with deep pockets.
But, at that point, we were already racing up classes and beating pros that were on factory bikes prior to this, which is how we got this backing from Honda as Amateurs, in the first place. So, your argument is irrelevant.
Then, we were factory team pro riders at 16, beating pros in the heights of their careers on factory bikes, as well. So, we didn’t have a significant advantage there, and it was a level playing field, as far as bikes were concerned in our pro careers.
So my situation was definitely not the same situation as Deagan, who comes from money, has industry connections, had a track at his house his entire life, has always had factory comparable bikes, the best training, more seat time, has probably been home schooled his entire life, and whose dad had endless money to fund his program, and the time available to travel to races, all over the US, and gain race experience, since he first got on a bike. Which definitely, gives Deagan a significant advantage.
Not sure how you can argue that it doesn’t, or that it is how I grew up, with that significant advantage since day 1, as well. When that wasn’t the case, as I didn’t come from money, was self made, had to fund my own program, as my dad quit his job to manage mine and my bother’s career, and we had to support our family, financially, and when I got financial backing and better bikes in my teens based on hard work, talent, and winning races.
