The return of LACR

Does anybody know if LACR is returning? I heard they were coming back in March, and Jack was still going to run it. Anybody have any insight on this?

I heard permits and ridiculous fees were holding it up. But I will see Jack today and know the real story.

Let us know what you find out Pala!!! I grew up racing there and cleaning the fence line of grabage and emptying the trash cans the day after the race when I was kid. Jack is like a grandpa to me......and Jeff was like my older brother. My brother and I drove down and road the last race there back in 2010.....bitter sweet day that was for us. If they are opening back up I will make the 16 hour drive (one way) to ride!!! HEll yes.

Drove past it the other day, all the good dirt and sand is gone from what it looked like and they are near the water board so it looks very rocky. It definitely wont be what it was.

The gravel pit has consumed the whole area. IMO it would have to be in a different location.

I think it's supposed to be contained inside the gravel pit. There are some guys over on Proride that have some info on the situation

The rumor around here is a Barbacovi is going to open it back up but it won't be Jack.

Hmm, must be Greg.....man, I hope this comes together....I have been dying for a SoCal ride trip, In and Out double double and my first major voyage in the motovan. Thats where I grew up so tons of friends and family to see.

We're hoping to have LACR back by the end of the year.........track will be based on the floor of the "pit"......with loops climbing up out of it.........kinds opposite of the way it used to be......when we were based on the top, and went down into the "pit".......and the Barbacovi family will run the show.........

This place looks perfect. Good sandy track, elevation change plus it is all kinda sunk down in a hole so maybe that helps with dust and noise. I don't know what else is around there but from the twmx video, it looks like it will get rough and be fun. Lucky bastards! haha

I'm riding there next Sunday, I'll let you know how it was. It's much sandier right now, than it use to be, but I'm sure that will change a little after riding it a bit. The layout is awesome and I'm looking forward to doing lps next weekend....
