I bet everyone on here would of bet their life saving that Eli would have a supercross title before Anderson, just one of those dumb ESPN stats that I thought of watching the race, also Musquin is too soft to be a 1 rider #hottake
The Shop
Tomac got beat in 2017 by a guy that didn't even want to race anymore..............
How do you have that speed and not beat a guy that wants to quit?
Answer, Dungey was faster than people give him credit for and Eli isn't as tough as people give him credit for.
Pit Row
Eli has said numerous times that he can't get it done unless he's feeling it. Listen to his post SX race interview last year at round 3(?) and then listen to his post race interview last Saturday. His switch for the most part is either on or off... and he knows it. Eli would kill to have Dungey's skills. Let's recap shall we?
Dungey 450 SX Career
134 starts
Finished outside of top 10 - twice
101 career 450 SX podiums
31 consecutive podiums
34 wins
122 top 5 finishes / outside 12 times
4 AMA 450 SX Championships
MX won't be much kinder either.
Along with his three 450 MX championships Dungey is 2nd (All Time) in 450 MX wins
Career 450 MX podium percentage - 92%
We all know there's not much mercy for anyone on the track when Eli is feeling right. On the other hand, there doesn't appear to be much mercy for Eli on his off nights either... hence the current SX points. This sport will not tolerate brain farts (keys to the race?) no matter how fast you are. Can Tomac still win the championship? It's possible. But tell me, who does Anderson remind you of lately?
