He hasn't really looked like the rider we saw last year kind of makes you wonder what's going on. It's not like he's riding horrible I just thought he might be chasing the leaders upfront more

A good rider can win on a stock bike let alone a full factory bike, riders will always blame the bike if results are poor regardless of brand.

I thought Webb looked good in that first moto and the second one at Thunder Valley. He'll get it figured out, at this point though he's probably just going through the motions till the 18 comes. I dunno if it's the bike or not and Ferris clearly showed it can be upfront but I'm sure Coop has been telling himself the 18 will solve all issues.

Took Herlings some time to figure it out on a big bike. Coop will be fine.
No it didn't. He was injured

The big Yammie sucks at that level . Anyone that thinks the bike doesn't matter in the big boy class is an idiot . Look at moto GP it varies track to track on which bike wins .

Im not sure I follow the logic of comparing two different disciplines, with a large number of unrelated variables. How can they share the same conclusion?

What about people who compare MX to moto GP? Geniuses?

So Blake Baggett won a title in 2012(?) And is just now coming into his own on the 450, but Cooper Webb isn't winning in his first year so his bike is crap. Am I right so far? Also he got top five this weekend.

I think Ferris just doesn't read this forum. Once he does, he will realize he should be finishing 10th or crash out because the bike handles differently in America. I think Webb's only problem is he has bought into the the so-called YZ450F's problem and as fickle as these guys are, that's enough.

As I watched Ferris I was thinking I hope the Yamaha haters on vital are watching this! It is not the bike, COOPER finished 5th. Don't think a top 5 is bad for a rookie....

If I made as much as Cooper Webb's salary I'd probably ride around and do my best to not get injured (as he has been already) while still learning each and every week

Basically that's what he is doing

TBF, our "factory" bikes are basically like if you had someone with a massive wallet and a good suspension dude.

Hmm...I did see a plated swingarm, and what looked like some Rinaldi goodies like a hydraulic clutch, carbon bits, lowered subframe...it certainly wasn't stock.

Do you guys remember him(Webb) on the at his first des Nations? The bike with the ugly silver rims? He rode like a freaking animal!! This has to be the same bike, if not more improved upon. Is it that he's had a taste of the new scooter and is looking at the old bike like an ex girlfriend who doesn't shave?
6/18/2017 7:51am
Barring injury, Webb will enjoy a couple of years as a top 3 guy, if not the champion....mark it.
No matter what bike he is on.
I'm a KTM guy and I'm debating running the #2 on my bike, which would be hilarious me posing as a single digit guy Smile

yayyy...someone else that thinks logically!!!!

The main problem with the 450 is its time for a clean out of the management at team Yamaha they have been in the game to long and gotten stale to the point of not listening to their rider / teams using the mantra of we have been here so long we know what's right and what's wrong.
Why didn't yamaha let Webb test the CDR Yamaha of Ferris?
