Kind of long guys, but Tony and I got in to MX before and after the kids, the moto show and Vital MX.

Inside story: Tony Alessi!

I also talked with Jeff and Mike, but those won't be up until next week.

Thanks guys. I personally think Tony is a pretty good dude. I had to call him 3 different times to get this done and every time I called over to the house they had some kind of family function going on. Poker night, Valentines party, or whatever. He may be different but all he is about is Moto and family.

Parents don't always know whats best for their kids.
Time to let let walk them selves and wipe their own asses.

Good interview, Tony has probably made some mistakes but his intentions are always to further his kids career and he's made massive sacrifices - his kids are now pro racers making good money.

I'd agree it's time to step back a bit but he's started to do that and Mike hasn't improved so maybe he knows better than us?

Great interview. Glad to see Tony tell his side. I get sick of people on here stating opinions like they are facts. Say what you want but the Alessi's are hardcore MOTO!

The Alessis came to an amateur regional I hosted at my track the first year Mike was in the pro class.

I heard so much stuff about them I wasn't sure what to expect.

What I found out was that they were the most focused and professional amateurs I had ever seen.

No big hauler. Just a trailer behind a dually. Their pits were set up within an hour of getting there. Even had some kind of inflaable palm trees that I never did understand.

Mike got out in front of most of his races and held comfrotable leads. No flash. No cockiness, just all business.

He crashed hard one moto and got up and finished where he needed to to qualify and saved energy for his other races.

It was rare to see that kind of maturity in an amateur that received so much hype.

On the other hand I always thought letting those kids run the "C" class was about as lame as it gets.

Good interview Dan! I've known Tony since 1992 when he was the announcer at Perris....I have always liked him and the boys......Mike has more heart than a lot of the racers today.....its good to see him doing a lot better the last few weeks....and Jeff was riding really good until he got hurt...

Wow.. Did I step into the Twilight Zone? Good comments about me is strange enough, but Tony? Wink

Thank you very much for the compliments. I would of got all 3 Alessi interviews done but between building a site, writing and getting ready to go to San Diego I've been swamped. Thx again guys!

Some day I'd like to know what they found when they took the factory suspension to the local Showa shop and had it broken down.

Good stuff. Jeff and Mike have always been exceptionally nice and receptive to the fans any time I've ever seen them at the races. Both good kids. Been a few brain disconnects along the way, but according to all of Bubba's fans, that's just racing!
