Figured I'd start a more positive thread about this race, seeing as there are already a few negative ones... But yea, this facility is pretty awesome and the (small number of) riders who made the trip all seem to love it...

Kudos to the creators 👍

Nice. Was there something there beforehand, or is the track made from scratch? Nice looking dirt

What a waste of effort for 9 riders. They should offer free cargo/flights for all teams if they want to do these fly aways.

What world do we live in where there are nine riders at a GP and somehow that’s OK because it’s a nice track?

It should be smooth and fast. Laid back and hopefully the riders who are there have a ton of fun.

Who's saying that?

I'm purely saying it's a nice track. Plenty of other negative people are focusing on the number of riders, and that's correct, because it isn't great to have so few riders, but that doesn't mean it isn't a nice track

From how it was, to how it is, is a bloody good effort by the crew and anyone else helping out. It does look pretty sweet.

I hope it stays like that for the locals when they're done with this shambles of a "GP" round.

I feel sad that, you only focus on the negative parts...

But at least the thousands of fans (2km of roadside people) enjoyed the riders being here

Is the 450 class not running this weekend with all the 9 rider talk?

This is great. I doubt those people have ever heard of Gajser or Vialle or even know what motocross actually is, but this is far far better than racing in front of three camels at Qatar or Oman.

Malins short video. I wish I was there.

Look, I can see the point / dismay at the entries situation - that's that Bastard Luongos doing, through sweet FA Travel Assistance, but it looks to be a Great track. Of course, we'll have twats that think it's crap, because that's their 'go to'.
https://youtu.be/D-KoyXMqeRc

Let's hope they get a good attendance, the local Promoters / Gov don't lose a motza on it, and it becomes a Permanent Track, for both Locals and GPs. But, Luongos 'formula' tends to end up with a lot of financial casualties , while He lines his pockets.

Track looks awesome, fans look excited! Hope it produces some great racing in spite of the entry numbers. Thanks for trying to be positive!

Shame on all the sad folks here talking down on a country and populace they’ve never visited or given more than half a thought about. A quick google shows there are a few grassroots moto orgs there. I’m sure some kid is going to see his hero ride in person for the first time, and ain’t that what it’s all about?

Nope, I can barely swing a leg over a bike, at the moment. And, the Heat and Humidity there, would melt this Old Ranga pretty much instantly. I reckon I'd last about a minute - probably not even a lap. Blush

It would have been a great, affordable trip, on a new to me Island , that I was really looking forward to. Indonesia is always a great trip.

Track looks awesome, start looks like unique with banked corner and then downhill.

What I don't get is how any one except Infront makes any money building a track and facility from scratch for once a year use in countries that don't have many moto riders/fans? Would think between Infront's promoters fee, grand stands/ etc. plus the cost of building track and running race it's costs a considerable amount of cash.

Realize Upfront needs to run races in various non-European countries to call it a world championship, but don't' see how the promoters make anything even with good turnout or what am I missing? .

In what way is that focussing only on the negative parts?

Acknowledging it's a nice track, giving props to the track builders, hoping the locals get to make use of it afterwards.

Those ARE the positives. Don't be soft mate.

You're making no sense Richy- 'AyearinMX' was pointing out 'RobGVX' focusing on the fact there is a small entry in an otherwise positive thread about a beautiful track.

Well no one except Infront actually makes any money, that's exactly how the system has been working for decades.

The guys saying what are they doing there have never looked into the local motocross scene. It's very popular from what I can see. So saying bs like they probably have no idea...

Well I can't read, even after quoting it 😂

Ayearinmx, I apologise, I thought that was at me even though reading it now it clearly has Rob's name above it.

I was sure I wasn't being a negative Nancy, turns out I was being completely illiterate though!
