What in your opinion was the best race in SX post 2000s?

Mine is the A1 Mudder in 2005 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uCgazikz-E

I hope we have a race like this again because this was a very exciting race due to all the hype going into it and then it turned to be a mudder and all hell broke loose for the 3 most talked about guys out there.

Do you guys think this year we might have a mudder?

86' Anaheim is always the one that sticks out for me.

He said post-2000. Best race pre-2000 is obviously Atlanta 1990.

Best race post 2000 is Daytona 2008.

1990 Seattle, battle with big bird and chicken.
1990 Atlanta SX, sooooo many lead changes and the rider who won you didn't see til like the last 2 laps.
I also really liked the 89 or 90 race in Charlotte, Bradshaw was on the gas.

Pontiac 02 was incredible. Carmichael charging back with his visor covering half his face. Last to 2nd.

Dallas 03 with Carmichael and Reed dicing all race was amazing.

Orlando 07 with Carmichael and Stewart going as fast as humanly possible was jaw dropping.

This decade? Atlanta 11 by far. Incredible battle there down to the final turn.

A2 in '01. I think that's the one. I was 10 years old and I'll never forget it.

For me it was that Daytona '08 race... it was the most insane supercross I'd ever seen

Hands down 1992 Tampa SX. JMB was stalking in 5ths place. Cooper should have won the race. JMB goes from 4th to 1st in 1 lap. The race was tight up to that point. But once he got the lead he was gone.

Best race I saw in person was 2002 Pontiac SX and probably the second best race was A1 2013 when Millsaps nipped Canard for the win. I knew leaving Pontiac I had seen a classic and told my buddy that evening would be an instant classic.

For A1 2013 I was in the Press Box and unfortunately a drunk Vitard who I had never met basically suckered punched me with the hardest slap on the back I have ever received in my life as Millsaps took the flag and said "man what a race huh?". The slap was hard enough that it knocked me forward off my feet!

Just another reason I cannot stand drunks....especially lying drunks that deny ever doing it. Idiot is lucky I was in the midst of a six month depression so I was not my normal self and basically had no reaction except disbelief. My mid back still bothers me when I have been on my feet for a long time.

Yeah I was sober and you were drunk but I'm the liar. Is that rich or what?

Atlanta 1990. Five different leaders, seven lead changes, not to mention the dogfight that was going on from 2nd-5th. I can't remember a race that comes even remotely close to that one.

F off coolhand

You must be a drunk or a fan of sucker punches or both? I have a great sense of humor but not with pussies that sucker bunch or Vitards who think anything about this incident is funny,

I watched that race on TV. That pass JMB put on those guys through the whoops was insane including the fact JMB made it look EASY.

Is this the race I am thinking of or did JMB pass people individually? The race I am thinking of he passed them all at the same time in the whoops.

it was awesome to watch! he messed up a few times in the whoops in the laps prior, then he figured it out! in 1 section he passed Bradshaw then in the next section he passed the rest and took off. after watching the passes happen, the best was then watching the first part of the race. you could see he was trying to figure out where he was going to make his move.

Thanks for that Jeff. Funny thing was on the way home I was thinking yeah that was somebody on Vital that doesn't like me but then I said nah you're just being paranoid. Next week at Phoenix SX the FIRST person (how odd was that?) I saw was this coward and I said "hey I didn't catch your name last week" and sure enough he was a Vitard. Year later at A1 I had a calm discussion with this coward and he said "ah man I'm sorry I was buzzed. What can I do to make it up to you?" Told him I really appreciated the apology and to let me think about it.

The next time I texted him he denied everything and said I had him confused with someone. Yeah right. The expression "adding insult to injury" fits this situation perfectly.

JMB was poetry in motion for sure. Think it was 92 at GH when they had the three moto USGP format and JMB spanked them while looking like he was a on a trail ride.

Rock, it was really someone from Vital? Come on, spill the beans!!! Who???

I loved the last SX RC raced. Orlando 2007. Epic battle. Stew had his number in the hoops though. I'm sure the crowd wanted RC to win the final almost as much as he did. I believe it was the day after his twins were born.

Jacksonville 2008 was also very good. Great battle between Stew and Reed. Multiple passes for the lead. Another memorable one was in Atlanta. Reed had the lead, RC hunted him down and passed him, but washed out shortly afterwards. Hunted him down a second time and took the win. 70,000 fans were going wild!!! Maybe 2003?

Yep... Even with a flat tire in one moto.
