I loved it too, he is clearly being MUCH more aggressive than ever before on the track, but he's smart too. I can understand how it can be frustrating to watch if you like him but I don't really understand how people who could never dream of even getting a pro license can criticize him or anyone else.
He has been somewhat protected by the boys in the booth it seems but the comments became frequent last year, especially outdoors and we've already heard them this year. I think Roger even threw a jab last outdoor season. Of course all us keyboard warriors fling it so it's almost passé to bring it up now. I took the comment to be directed at all the sources...glad to see him have some fire and it had bite...good for him!
No matter what he is always in the top 3 at the end. Can't beat that no matter what. Great team, good contracts, always healthy. A racer probably couldn't ask for to much more.
He will be up there but as stacked as this field is he really needs to push early. Definitely one of my favorite riders but my expectations have just lowered a little.
He was obviously frustrated. And has heard all the comments. Both fueld his remark.
Nobody said it was easy. But many see where he could be a bit more aggresive and it would show in his results.
The Dunge wants to create a VitalMX account, but he is worried Gibby will click him after his first response to some screwed up Vitard. And there are a lot of them.
His comment was pretty immature considering nobody criticizes him for not "punting people off the track" as he put it . That's a very different thing than consistently refusing to make passes that he has the ability to make, which is what fans and Roger actually criticize him for. Typical reaction of someone with a highly passive aggressive nature. Nobody ever said he sucks, clearly he is in the top. 001% in the sport, what the hell does he want people to say? Should we have a "Dungey is perfect" thread permanently pinned on here??

I think he just does not want riding tips from C class riders and keyboard warriors
I think every famous pro rider, professional athlete, politician and other public figure receives nearly constant criticism in some form or another from armchair quarterbacks and sometimes the media, yet very few lose their composure enough to make a comment like that. I'm not criticizing him for it, it was entertaining and better than a sponsor list. I'm only saying he is clearly an extremely passive aggressive person. Again, nobody's perfect and it's not really criticism from me, just my observation.

He stays quite for 4 years says 1 thing and gets shit for it, ok. I wonder what you will say when he takes someone out lmao
I like Dungey, I was but I won't say I am still a huge fan. But virtually everyone at one time or another has said the same thing including DeCoster. We don't wait all week to watch the top riders put in good consistent laps. And if in fact Peick broke his foot on lap 18 Dungey passed a guy who just broke his foot. He's a great rider, but at this point I don't consider him one of "the greats".
I don't like it because nobody has ever said he should punt people off the track. It's a little offensive the fans and his boss, mentors and announcers who all say the same things on the matter, and it has never been that he should be sending other riders to the cheap seats.

That being said, he is 2nd in points.
2 weeks of solid riding and smart lines.
He's kinda telling people, "Hey, I've got this."
I loved what he said, was awesome!!!
