I think it did just save Blake’s bracket.

I raced a few arenacross’s back in the late 90’s early 2000’s and they had those nets after the catapult jump.

It is so lame they haven’t given Steve credit and I hope Bagget and whoever else buys Matthes a drink. He’s already saved them a few trips to the hospital:

They oughta become part of Endurocross. Slide the bike under, climb over, climb down, get back on, ride.

That was cool how Baggett climbed down.

It cracked me up they didn’t say the word “nets” at all, God bless you Matthes, but the nets themselves, that was awesome, I’m sure Baggett was happy they were there as well.

The Steve Matthes memorial nets are probably the best thing to happen to Supercross since they invented the wheel!

Man that would have been pretty nasty I reckon... It was awesome how he ended up back on the bike!

Three cheers for the Manitoba Manatee!

It definitely helped. Langston whiskey'd a bowl turn like that in the Astrodome many years ago and landed on the hard concrete far below and busted his ass up but good. That net is a damn good idea.

A Canadian contribution. Matthes has been kind of humble about them on his podcasts (hard to believe?).

Certainly was an excellent demonstration.

Catch fence is a NASCAR term. We've reached a new low.

They just need a dig dug lying under the net so he can pick up the rider's bike and get it set for the rider to let go of the net and drop on and resume.

Saved Baggett tonight. I’m worried about a rider getting their arm caught in them or the bike falling straight down directly on them though.

It saved Baggett. It saved his bike....the grips didn't even hit the ground. It saved his mechanic from working his ass off even more. Shit he fell out of the net back onto his bike, and if the tuff block wasn't there he would've rode away smoothly. In fact, I say get rid of the tuff blocks wherever there are Matthes nets!

Duuuuuude that net saved Blake's season!! Both indoors AND especially the outdoors......if that net hadnt been there to save "Brake Baggit" he woudve dnf'd for sure and wouldve surely been interviewed by Mr. Tom Broke-off himself ....in the wise words of Kenny Watson ....Blake wouldve been "Rooned" had the STEVE MATTHES MEMORIAL NETS not been there to save his ass, the Great Outdoors wouldve been an incredibly boring season this year.

Funny, I was watching the races with my parents whom rarely watch the races unless I talk them into it, were blown away by how that net save Bagget and I explained how Matthes has been going on and on for the last 4+ years regarding the implementation of the nets in order to bring back bowl berms and why Chris Blose's wild ride spurred the inital spark that Matthes needed to "Make Supercross Great Again"

Its absolute BULLSHIT that Feld has snubbed Matthes on the nets AND how they (Feld) were definitely patting themselves on the back when Matthes' Nets saved Blake from what couldve been (with a high probability) a season ending series of injuries.

COME ON FELD!!! GIVE MATTHES THE CREDIT HE DESERVES FOR, AT THE VERY LEAST, PLANTING THE SEED OF A REVOLUTIONARY "UPGRAYEEDD" TO SUPERCROSS.

Its a two-fold win for supercross in general, the nets not only saves fans from getting the ultra rare possibility of "Faced" by a bike that flies into the stands AND brought back the use of Bowl Berms that riders can attack with reckless abandon....i beelieve the racung and tracks have positively impacted by this ingenious inception of nets, once laughed at by many, Steves Matthes stuck by his concept and those whom scoffed at him now have plenty of egg on their faces ...lol

Baggett handled that situation like a superhero, was kind of cool how he grabbed the net and got back on the bike. Props to safety nets !

Doesn't Steve have to be dead to call them 'memorial nets'?

I vote Pulpnets!
