I always get a kick out of the threads and discussions that get started every time a rider gets hurt or is even rumored to be hurt.
Musquin hurt ? Give his bike to Billy Joe Bullfrog , oh hell no His bike should go to Never win Jim he's due.
Maybe RC will come back for one more spin with the Man.

The Shop
Really?
I'm pretty sure the best racers earned the best bikes.
I just think it's absurd that every time a rider has a crash people on here start trying to award rides and money to other riders with no connection to either side.
While I agree with 500guy 99% of the time, I like the current trend. In the 1980's and 1990's when a factory rider was hurt, Jeff Ward, Ron Lechien, Ricky Johnson, the sweet factory bike just sat under the tent. Seemed like such a waste of a beautiful piece of racing machinery.
Plus, it gives hope to guys like Dean Wilson.
Seen it before, haven't we? Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
As far as budget, it seems to me that some teams have taken this into account and have guys specifically slotted as fill in's. Nicoletti is a perfect example while he was at JGR... and it paid off for both JGR and Phil. Kudos to JGR for working with him to allow him out of that contract to move to Husky last year as well. The idea that a team keep one guy on a limited salary for testing and opportunity as a fill in seems fairly reasonable AND necessary.
Obviously, some guys like Wilson may not be right for a full time backup role (he should be a full series guy IMO). But there are others who fit this mold exactly. Nicoletti was one. I think pre-JGR, Peick was maybe another. Grant could be a potential guy for this type of role. The other option would be to use a satellite team in this type of role Have a deal where MCR gets factory support and in the event an HRC guy goes down, Brayton, Mookie, or Friese can step right up to fill in (example scenario only). The publicity from the move alone would provide lots of sponsor attention for both teams.
He'd never did win no checkered flags
But he'd never did come in last.
Jerry was a race car driver
He'd say Hell yes I'm number one
With a 446 sticker on the side of his 442
He'd light'em up just for fun.
Pit Row
I mean where else would they look ? LOL
It's all how you frame it..
