Is there any real sand tracks in the U.S?
It seems like the euros is better on sand.

It will be very interesting when the MXoN goes to Lommel in I think 2012. How will Team USA cope with conditions that will be totally alien to them?

Check out the coverage of last weekends GP at Lommel on the web.
Modern track is a lot rougher and deeper than back in 1981.

More importantly, what excuse will GP supporters use if & when they lose?

Hows a guy from MD know about Pismo?Grin

When I was quite young, my folks took us camping there. All there were was old cars turned into 'dune buggys' and a lot of clam-digging.

Ahhhh now i see where you get the "beach guy" look! When i first saw you last year at the Millville national and asked you for jumper cables, i thought for sure you were a laid back cali guy with your hawaiian shirt and shorts. All you needed was a tall cool fruity drinkSmile

Did you race Sunday? We had a great turn out at Brookston and the day went great. If you like hills and sandy soil you should come up some time to race.

don't need excuses when you win...seems to me, the USA has had that covered for the better part of 3 decades.

When you were "quite young", I'm surprised there were even cars...let alone, "old cars". Wink

My oldest son attended the Lommel GP last year. He said it was unreal how rough the track got and that most of the 250 guys were using a much different style to get around the track.
The MXDN will be fun to watch there.

Well I'm a euro. But i'm sure riders like Dungey, Poto, Stewart, ... are talented enough to do just fine at lommel. They won't come unprepared.

I seem to remember De Ruever coming over to Southwick and I watched him get his ass handed to him by a few Americans. He I think was 4th in the first moto but pulled off in the second.

ass handed to him? Man I remember him being on the gas that first moto and putting it to most everyone except James and cant remember who was in 2nd....

He did throw in the towel in the 2nd moto, but that seems to be his MO in the GP's as well. Seemed like a cool dude though in his interview with James...
