The Anstie GYTR YZ-144 thingey.
RV's built KX 250 Smoker
Andy Bowyer mentioning the 2 stroke revolution in full swing at Steel-City this wknd.
Friends asking " Hey, anybody know where a good 250 2 stroke is for sale ?"
My recent top-end rebuild of our KX-144 was around $300.00 - what you pay for a set of
valves for a 250F...
And MORE, much more.... http://twostrokemotocross.com/
* We haven't yet seen peasants in colorful garb, swinging burning Ratio-Rites
full of flaming Bel-Ray, chanting pleasant two-stroke noises in unison,
marching in formation down the dampened streets of Morgantown,
but hear me now, and listen to me later - the two-stroke revolution has begun.
The expensive valve-springs from these calamity-prone,
modern-day missiles, shall become the unlikely shackles of those who distance and
dismiss the merry mighty myths of the two-stroke's prominent heritage. Hark & Forsooth.
Supposedly, there will be a few trying to make a go in the NATIONALS this year, but I'll
see it when I believe it.
Folks say that every year.
Let's hope Broc Hepler or a rider with a serious pedigree comes forth with a smoker.
* And, truth be told, I'm a whole lot better on a four-smoker than a two. I happen to suck
on both machines, but suck less when equipped with the valve-train and awful noises.
The Shop
"The following is a true story
Only the names have been changed
To protect the guilty -
Well I left my job in my home town
And I headed for the smoke
Got a rock 'n' roll band and a fast right hand
Gonna get to the top
Nothing's gonna stop us, no nothing
So if you've got the money, we've got the sound"

Here it is as I got it. I'll post a pic of how it will look as mine when I get finished. First owner loaded it up with aftermarket bling, second owner took it a little farther. I'm putting our FaithRacers graphics and black rims on.
braaaappp..
i'll still keep the crf450 for race day, but i am looking forward to having a good practice spare bike

While I've often recited that ancient quote " I'd never want to belong to a club that would
accept me - as a member ", the truth is - is that the two-stroke lunch table, is where
most of the cool kids are sitting now.
We had 99 riders.
27 of those riders were on 125 smokers of some kind.
I guess when a guy can buy and in-expensive bike and relatively cheap parts they can ride and not work all the time to pay for an 8000.00 bike. that could end up needing a 1500 to 2000 rebuild if not properly maintained.
just wait, today we buy machines from Japan and europe.
that same day there was three
china" bikes................ cost of those little four stroke, electric start, dual purpose machines.........899.00.
now i don't know about you. but what difference does it make where the bike comes from???? china, japan, germany? none are made in the USA...........
Doesn't a bunch of little bikes already made by eaton and sold as yamaha or kaw?
how many bikes can ya destroy at 900.00 bucks before you get the price of a cr 230? or ttr 225?
People want to ride and race. They want to be able to afford it. Time is coming when someone figures out how to bring alot of chinese bikes over here and lets see what happens then.
8000.00 450's are plainly to much for a 17 year old to pay for working at mc donalds part time.
Pit Row
A buddy of mine has a fairly sweet 2001 RM-125 for sale.
Rebuilt engine, rusty DOMA pipe.
If you enjoy shifting, are handy with a clutch lever and are familiar with
B9EV's, I'll give you his number.
He wants $1300 American for the yellow beast.
Yes, $1300 - the price of graphics for your 450. Zing.
Suck it, Honda....and keep your stupid $4500 overweight CRF150R POS
I'm thinking no.
Is there room for entry-level racing? Sure.
I'm Stihl a STIHL guy.
But dig this KX-125, ladies and germs:
