Simply because of the worst promo campaign ever. Those damn expanding ads on this site suck. They're annoying, intrusive, they crashed my browser... and the content is immature at best and subliminally subversive at worst. FUXG.

He is right Gibby, its one thing to have ads that flash and annoy, but those expanding things are a pain inna azz.

Are you using IE7? The pop-up blocker installed in IE7 works great.

google toolbar works great...no pu's and no ads

those ads are annoying, I am so tired of advertisements, On TV a 1 hour and 30 minute movie takes 4 hours to watch. That is just too much.

And I'd want to do that why, exactly? Smile

The ads only expand if you roll over them. I'd say we're trying to encourage more accurate and responsible mousing. Wink

What do you think pays for this place? I'll take the ads any day so long as we can post here, see cool pictures and get the latest information.

Steve, I ain't mad at Vital for taking the money, I'm pissed at ES/EXPN for coming up with this highly annoying campaign.

And come on, you know those expand-a-ads are designed to respond to common mousing moves... like when I mouse to the right to get to the scroll bar, or when I mouse up to get to the address bar. Tell your ad reps "girls in bikinis, good... X Game play-villains, not good..."

Hurricane, I'm not complaining about ads in general, I'm complaining about a specific campaign. Don't get it twisted.

The campaign is in direct response to the MOTO-X WORLD fan no shows, the marketing agency was at a lost on why the fans pulled a no show, the result was Darklame, a reverse psychology ad campaign, most don't remember this but VW marketed the first bug with an ad of the bug with the words "lemon" under it, makes no sense but it worked, so ad people do this stuff because it has worked before, I worked at and ad agency for 15yrs so I know the drill, in defense of VitalMX, they're not the enemy on this one, but I do have to say that Darklame was a miss, but don't blame GuyB or the Athletes for their dreck. :-)

YouMoto;
You don't really think those ads are in response to low seat turnout at the Navy Moto X event do you?

Event tickets mean dick to TV, they want folks at home on the couch tuned in.

jndmx, it's not really my opinion, it's a formula that agencies use, it sounds wack, but the couch crowd saw that the stands were empty and that means on a psych level that it wasn't worth the watch, so it's no about the sales, but the perception of the excitement of an event.

Pdub, I'm glad to see you've joined my side, and proven my campaign effective.

Obviously my message reached you, and the X Games athletes are not worthy of your attention.

As for the rest of you? Feel the wrath of my blowdryer.
