That horrible 2018 Suzuki...

Edited Date/Time 3/1/2018 10:52am
just laid down the fastest lap in the main with a rookie at the helm....looks like that new zook chassis ain't bad after all. Watch out for redheads on yellow bikes, they're dangerous.

The question is who didn't say it was a bad bike? There was so much zook bashing that I thought for a minute it had taken the spot of the blue pig at the bottom but nope, the new zook still has it.

I'm stoked for JGR and Hill.

I'm not good enough a rider to judge how good/bad the Suzuki is compared to the rest, but surely a top team bike would be completely hopped up and bear no resemblance to how the stock one rides, isn't it?

All these shootouts tells you is that the Suzuki is the worst bike completely stock and it probably is.

Hill is anything but a rookie. He looked tonight like the winner he can be on a 450, like he’s able to do on a 250. Not a rookie tho. remember his ride at monster cup against the 450s? Kid can win in the big class.

Seems like everyone reads way more in to the shootouts than there is. Almost everyone states that the bikes are all so close, that none of them are a bad bike. As people want rankings, then there is going to be a first and a last, you cannot really rate them as the favorite of all the riders.

In every shoot out I saw, and honestly I like Keefers the best as he used so many different riders he had a very nice spread, and on truly stock bikes. He came out and said, every bike is very good, just purely stock he made his list, even then the zuke had part of it better than the bikes rated above it.

Its a great bike for under $7k out the door new. I think the JGR bikes are the best looking in the pits. Might just be that they don't look like energy drink cans.

Does anyone think the bike that Hill was riding is even close to what was tested? What it does show is that it is a workable platform with enough work.

I rated it last; but, that was...& still is all about the wonky shock. I’ve been riding it for months & have the shock about as good as it can get...stock. The handling is rock solid AND it turns well. The engine seems BULLETPROOF. Transmission is smooth and concise. Forks are pretty damn good (not quite the right preload stock. It looks good and plenty of people have bought them for really, really good prices.

This is an excellent motorcycle and a great value. Spend some time gettin’ the shock figured out and you’re good to go.

Everyone that hates on the Suzuki rides a 9k ktm with 4K suspension on it and would still run the same lap times as they would on the KTM. Hilarious

Hill looked really good last night. I'm a Tomac fan but was rooting for Hill as well.
The zook looked pretty good to me last night. JGR has the bike dialed.

Even though I ride green, I wouldn't be afraid to go to an RMZ. I have FC do my suspension as soon as I get a bike anyway.

At 155 lbs, they're set up too stiff for me. I'm sure they could get the Suzuki dialed in as we;ll

I haven't read any reviews but now I will have to. My first impressions of the bike were "Wow, it doesn't have a mixmatch of red/black/white/yellow plastic. It actually looks good. Then I saw no more air forks and immediately thought better of it.

I wonder why people were hating on it... the plastic looks good, color combo looks good, oil fork again, I was already attracted to it.

Hill is definitely riding a stocker right?

It`s a Team bike not a stock RMZ straight form shop to track. Also Suzuki got a big bike selection problem.

Does Suzuki Got a 65c no
Does Suzuki Got a 85 yes
Does Suzuki Got a 125 No

So your gone so you need to switch Brand back an forth as you grow. Before you get to the big bikes.

On the Ktm you may do Supention work
But on the other hand you spend money on titanium on the suzuki for comparable weight

Duh!
I think we all know that none of the bikes are close to stock.

This thread was meant for all the naysayers that say the Suzuki's are junk and can't compete.

Haven't heard from them in a while.

Honda only has a 150F for there comp small bikes and they are doing just fine. How many guys really stay on the same brand through their whole career? As far as stock goes, its a stock frame and swing arm, everything else they do can be bought so technically if you had deep pockets you could buy a showroom rmz450 and build it pretty close to what JGR has.

Well said.
According to all the KTM fanboy's everything else is inferior.

Full disclosure. I have a 2016 SX 125 as a second bike to play around on.
Nice bike, but not without it's own issues. Just for one, the forks suck ass.

But they fixed that on the newer model, just like Suzuki did.

Hard to compare a factory bike to the bike available to the average consumer.

The stock 450 is not a bad bike at all, BUT compared to all the other stock 450’s it ranks where it should in the shootouts. I was really let down the first time I rode one. Considered buying one before hand. Corners well but that’s about it.
