I searched and couldn't find any threads started for the Texas Pro Challenge at Swan MX that kicks off today.

I know we have Matt Leblanc, Brandon Scharer, Henry Miller, Curren Thurman, and Chase Marquier already here.

I'm also expecting to see Mike Brown, Ryder Floyd, John Short and several others show up this morning

Did Star drop Leblanc? He’s on a Honda for this race.
Yeah, he's done at Star

250 Moto 1: Curren Thurman got the holeshot but John Short passed into the lead quickly and led for the first part of the moto. Chandler Baker was on the move and passed Thurman for second then passed Short for the lead around half way through the moto. Henry Miller came from behind to finish 2nd and Scharer finished 3rd. Curren Thurman finished 4th. Ryder Floyd made it up to 5th. John Short must have really tightened up because he faded back to ~8th. Not sure how much he has been riding lately. I will post full moto 1 results shortly.

Chandler Baker was impressive, fit and fast! It's not the biggest field we have had for the pro challenge but it's still tough out there.

Leblanc did not look comfortable. He got a bad start and struggled to move forward.

Who is Chan baker? Not familiar with him. Young guy?

Also, noticed lance vincent was racing +25 money and got second. He is a local Louisiana guy who raced pro for a few years. He is the guy barcia roosted on purpose while hurt.

Lance is here and riding well. Unfortunately I was on the gate with him for +25A, lol. He said he hasn't "rode" in 5 years. Maybe he meant raced because he still goes really good. I guess it really is like riding a bike, haha. I know he stays in shape with CrossFit. It's good to see him back out here!

450 Moto 1: Ryder Floyd got the holeshot and led for a couple laps before Chan Baker too the lead and never looked back. Henry Miller moved past Floyd into second and was keeping Baker honest with about a 3 second gap until he LOST HIS SEAT!!! He rode a couple laps without the seat then pulled off. John Short faded again, he must not have been able to prepare for this race like he usually does. John Short fading doesn't even look right! But he never pulled off either so I respect that a lot! It's obvious he's struggling out there. Chase Marquier came home in 3rd.

Leblanc was maybe around 7th or 8th when he got pushed off the track at the bottom of the hill after Big Tex. He looked fired up and I looked for him to charge back to return the favor. I'm not sure where he finished but he didn't make the push to the front that I was expecting.

I'll post full results later after my +30A/B moto that I am about to line up for

Chandler Baker is from Oklahoma and about 20yo. We have been racing with him since JR 50’s. He has always been fast.

24th for LeBlanc? Is he hurt?
I don't know of anything, but he's definitely not going top 10 national speed today. Effort wasn't 100 percent in the 250 moto, he definitely charged harder in the 450 moto

What's the chances leblanc's Pro career is done just as it starts. Getting dropped by star is never good. Is jarrett Frye pro racing next season?

Matt is racing in 23 one way or the other.

I wasn't doubting that.
But generally if your 10th on a star bike and get dropped. The next season your 18th on a privateer.
Then you go from earning 60k to paying and after a year or 2 they are done. Hence my jarrett Frye comment.

Without know what is wrong with LaBlanc but that is horrible. Running top 15 in nationals and you come out and lay a egg like this.

Short raced Diamond Don's AHRMA national a couple of weeks ago. 4 laps on an XR is a lot easier than 30+2 at Swan.

Being on a Yamaha for many many years I would think the switch to a Honda may be a little strange. That being said, I would think he could muster a little higher finish at the Pro Challenge on any bike.

Leblanc is obviously better than what he showed today. Something isn't right either with the bike or with him. Time will tell. This track fairly start dependent and he didn't get one today. Maybe he gets it all sorted out in the second motos tomorrow!

First moto his left grip was twisting ot looked like, so he pulled off fixed it and then I think I heard him mention his back tweaked. But something dont look right. Chan Baker just switched to Kawasaki and is looking great. He should be able to win both motos tomorrow with the leads he had today. He scored a point or two at last few nationals this year.
