Ibuprofen before every race. More important than a new tire.
i have an extra set of CVs …. just in case 🤷♂️😂
You own more bikes than pairs of shoes.
High zoot shit there Bud.
The Shop
I can corner like a madman...air time makes me drop a deuce.
when your concerned about the weather forecast 8 days from event. (recently guilty)
Blendzall 2 stroke oil! Where's my can opener?
Mulholland shocks! (notice "shocks" is plural)
Guilty also. I look at the weather all week to make sure that I don't ride in the rain and that I am out of there before the temperature gets over 90 (which is about 10:30 in inland So Cal).
A gram of Tylenol and 1 Alleve before riding.
My first bike was the biggest POS Yamaha ever produced. 1981 YZ125
My first pro autograph was Broc Glover at Saddleback
I had a pair of Scott boots.
I raced at OCIR
I forgot the rest
OCIR was fun on a Thursday night.
It really was. Bones would go out for practice on his Maico 490 and just pelt anyone who got behind him lol.
I hated him
Spot me a letter and I can spell CZ (Usually)!
Gotta service the Curnutt's this weekend...
Put A-kit on my '23 YZ250 and I haven't even ridden the bike yet...
I put a WR side stand on my YZ450F !!!
It turned like a pig. I moved up from a 1995 CR125 which was arguably one of Honda's best bike to that stiff as hell non-turnable 1997 CR250. Mistakes were made.
Pit Row
You don't ever, EVER, trust a fart on the line..... could be costly. Prepare intake days in advance.
Spend Saturday evening loading up bike, gear, ez-up, pressure washer, 55 gal water to race.…Sunday morning alarm goes off, shut it off and go back to sleep. Maybe race next time..
I felt this one.
Every week you go to open practice, bringing both your bikes and your lucky to burn half a tank of fuel in either bike, yet you always bring your gas can. Then when your packing up and leaving the OP, you say to yourself that your not gonna bring your gas can to next weeks OP. When next week comes around, you have talked yourself into still bringing the can of gas imagining that your going to actually ride longer at the OP yet you know dam well your just gonna stay for the same 3hrs like you always do🤦🏻♂️
Not being able to wait for my uncle to take the tank and seat off of his YZ 250 so I could see what a mono shock was and I can be found on most all vet tracks around Southern California. If the shoe fits….
I’ll be at Pala tomorrow if anyone wants to rip
Having brand new tyres on project bikes that have gone hard.
Having a shed full of trick scooters, but only racing once or a twice a year max
I’ve finally stopped bringing my gas can to practice day- I’ll top the bike off at home and know I’ll only use a 1/4 tank at most..
I have in my done this 2-3 times in 40 years of racing…. The only way to feel good the next day is to ride somewhere……
O”Neal gear forever…. Care less about going to Nationals, would rather ride …still riding/ racing Mx when all your peers are long gone onto Enduro and woods riding….wife doesn’t even look up when you get home from the races at 11pm…. Walk into Orthopedic office and everyone knows you by first name😂…. Still have a kidney belt in my gear bag…..when I park at the races, I have to make sure I have a good spot to piss every 15 minutes….
I cant ride so I look good.....
I still have the Maico I used to race at Saddleback.
I don’t bring a gas can to practice… if i ride enough to burn a complete tank of gas i’m going to hurt myself anyway 😂
Post a reply to: Tell me you're a vet rider without telling me you're a vet rider.
